Nice small and homely restaurant where whatever you choose in their dishes you will enjoy for sure, trust me. Not too many options but you will find there marketplace cuisine with really food quality in their products. Normal and reasonable prices which makes still better this beauty restaurant in the lovely 'El Born' neighborhood.

I love Barcelona for many reasons but specially for the good food you find in liitle charming restaurants like Petra. The menu offered a variety of choices and all of them seemed equally good. The menu is a clear example of how food doesn't need to be extremely complicated and expensive to be delicious and excellent in quality. I could... More

Good food, but nothing above the average..the menu was 13 euros but the portions are small...the waiter thrown my beer without replacing it or apologize

The confit of duck was to die for. I had the quinoa as a starter and was very pleased with the dish. I've tried to replicate it at home but no success. I've dreamt about the duck confit ever since having it at Petra. The food is extremely good.

More authentic feel restaurant with many locals eating. Menu offered a range of wonderful dishes. Favourite dishes were the salmon and the desserts. Service friendly. Book otherwise you will be disappointed.

We went here because of positive reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The food was delicious - especially some camembert/filou parcels and the catalan equivalent of biscotti with a really nice kind of vanilla custard. Staff were friendly, spoke more English than my spanish, menus are available in English. The restaurant is small, I guess it probably takes about... More

Petra is in the heart of the old city, in one of my preferred areas, El Born. Just one small entrance, the place is nice and comfortable, with coloured walls and vintage furniture and very quiet, despite it. Very nice particulars attract you, like the menu written on used glass bottles and dishes that seem coming out from an ancient... More

Food was fantastic and a great value. The menu was charmingly posted on wine bottles, and though the restaurant itself was right and could have dimmer lighting for a more intimate effect, the energetic atmosphere and service more than made up for this.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
