Secret gourmet club hidden behind a beautiful old deli which you access through the kitchens and up two flights of spiral stairs. 15 course tapas menu, 60 euros for 2. Open since 1929 and still in the family. Señor Joseph Ravell is charming.

The place has a good product because it is right next to a market and they have a store with gourmet products downstairs. it is actually a unique experience because you have to go through the store to reach the restaurant. It is a very old gourmet store but they haven't clean or refurbish it in a long time. the... More

Entering through a small, crowded beautiful deli, greeted by amiable waitstaff and taken to two shared marble tables in the back liquor store,...they had us already,... ala Jerry Maguire. We were hungry and ate our way through a dream menu,..if you like oxtail, pig trotters, tripe, roasted kid leg, and tomato salad with cod. We finished with a sweet tomato confit... More

Cam Ravell is located in a gourmet store founded in 1929. I felt like I had stepped back in time. Ask to eat upstairs. The large dining room is located up a spiral staircase. People eat at two big shared marble tables. The menu changes daily. There is a vast wine selection. The food is Spanish and Catalan comfort food.

Hard to find, but well worth the it. The dining room serves authentic Catalan fare prepared and served superbly. We enjoyed the calamari and the suckling pig and will return here next time on Barcelona.

Came to this restaurant after reading its review in Frommers Guide. The Restaurant is at the back of the shop which sell liquors and usual ham and dried meat products. We sit around a communal table shared with a couple and and a lone diner. We are mst fortunate to meet and chat up the couple who is regular in... More

Not worth the trip there. Very expensive. There are many other places around that are more genuine without the big price tag. No tapas either. Just full size dishes.

We were hungry and arrived at the restaurant at 6pm. Most places open at 8pm so we were quite happy that they invited us in and made us some nice food. The Russian salad was very tasty and nicely presented. The entrees were better and more interesting than the mains in my opinion.

We've been here twice in the last couple of years. You are eating in the rear section or the upstairs of a shop that sells various gastronomic delicacies. The atmosphere is kitsch, but the most positive and enjoyable kitsch you can imagine. The service is friendly and attentive. And then there is the food: a wonderful array of tapas and... More

The "restaurant" consists of two long shared tables in. Space behind the grocery stor. No matter. Food is good, wine tasty, plentiful and well-priced. Loved the salad but the cannelloni stuffed with salt cod was too rich for my taste buds.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
