Spotted this restaurant last October and it was really busy so decided next time I was here I'd give it a go. Read some mixed reviews but wanted a lunchtime paella so decided to book a table and we weren't disappointed. Staff were attentive and efficient despite being pretty full. Was offered complimentary ham and olives which we declined as... More

Seven of us visited Salamanca. We started with an appetizer called Pica Pica, which is an assortment of hot fried seafood. Included were Baby Squid - tender whole morcels about 1.5 inches in length, Andulusian styled Squid, large sliced rings that literally melted in your mouth, tiny whole sardines, gutted, dusted in flour and deep fried, and deep fried small... Came there w/o having a reservation. Just in front the restaurant a waiter catched us up and brought us to a smaller but very busy room, directly in front of the kitchen and just at the road side. Felt a bit under time pressure while ordering but in the end it became a bit more relaxed. They offer a big... More

Stopped by for lunch on recommendation for their paella. Ordered the Salamanca special paella (seafood), it was delicious and went down well with a glass of sangria! The staff are also extremely efficient given how busy it was.

Do you like to sit in a weeding tent, constantly being chased by one of the 100 waiters? I guess not. Food is ok, but it's noisy (full of british party gangs) and feels like a middle east wedding. Nah. Go elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback. The Salamanca team apologizes, as we would have liked their passage through our restaurant to have been more positive, since having enjoyed the food we regretted that the experience was spoiled by the noise, but we are in a busy area And being on the terrace is the inconvenience you have. We regret that you... More

As always we are very happy to be here. We get the best of service and a paella that is very good in all ways. The sad thing is that you have to book a table to be sure to get a table. We will be back in the autumn when we visit Barca again.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
