We came up the mountain to visit the church next door and had lunch here. The food was excellent. We had the chickpea soup and the roast chicken. For those wanting a smaller meal, there is a bar in the same building with tapas and meals cooked in the same kitchen.

We were a group of twenty or so enjoying Canarian tapas. We were given ten or twelve different dishes all very good and typical of the Canary Islands. The service was quick and cheerful and the atmosphere excellent

recommended by local friend, we drove to this restaurant all the way from the west side of the island, it is just next to the oldest church on this island. there were 6 of us, we had some starters & each of us had a main course, t-bone steaks, ribs, goat meat, wine and followed with coffee, puddings & water.... We didn't visit the large restaurant (round the back) so can't comment on that. After our visit to the very impressive church, we enjoyed sitting at the front of the bar on the sunny square with a cold beer and the crunchiest pork scratchings.

well the return taxi fare from los cancos was more than the meal. The restaurant is cold uninspiring and devoid of atmosphere. there must be room for over a 100 covers there were two couples inc. us in the place. There is an off putting stange smell in the place and weirdly a childs motorised sit on ride within the... More

We have just returned from our 2 week holiday in La Palma. Went to this place twice as the food is very good. After we placed our order the cook brought a quarter pig from the fridge through the restaurant to his kitchen. So definitely fresh food! Big portions and very good price value! Unfortunately the menue is only in... More

Great setting & atmosphere. Pork ribs, chicken, goat, chips, mojo all excellent. House wines nice. Good selection of La Palma and Spanish too. Cheap as chips. Went twice in two week holiday. Intended going back for our final meal of the holiday but it was closed on a Thursday. Taxi from the boat is about 6 euro's. Go hungry!

A very very rainy day had us lost using a bing map. Locals told us to take a cab as it was 4 km up the hill. The cab got us there where we enjoyed a fabulous feast. I'll come back

This restaurant is Old Spain but Canarian style. There are few restaurants around like this any more so make the most of them. There is no luxury or pomposity here - it's all about feeding the customer well and at sensible prices. I'm so dissapointed that we didn't find this restaurant during our previous 2 visits to La Palma -... More

This is in an attractive setting on a leafy square above Santa Cruz, next to an important church (where the festival virgin is kept). Bar Parrilla las Nieves caters very much for locals, as other reviewers have noted. We were the only non-Spanish diners, who included several children at 9 in the evening - there is even play equipment in... More
