We were so impressed by this restaurant a few months ago that we wanted to return. We brought two friends from York, (north of England) this time. We all felt it was an amazing experience. This is not one of San Sebastian's Michelin starred restaurants so if that's what you want don't come here as you're expectations will be disappointed.... More

The Rekondo is a remarkable experience not just for the food but also for the friendly service and elegant setting. We tried the piglet and the cod: both were delicious. It is not cheap but not expensive either: about 40 euro per person. You need to reserve, the place was always fuss and when we tried to go back for... More

The newly renovated Rekondo is really deserving of a Michelin star. If you enjoy wine, this place has a 250 page wine list in a hard cover book. Martin the sommelier is ever willing to assist with your selection. The wines are affordable and perhaps the best we have drank in our worldwide gastronomic adventures....Lourdes, the proprietors daughter is charming... More

Rekondo came highly reconmended but we left feeling underwhelmed. The food was ok - nothing noteworthy. My starter of lobster and scallops lacked any flavour, neither natural nor added. My main course of baked crab came alone in a shell, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't his own. No vegetables are offered on the menu so my husband and I... More

My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner here on a Saturday night. Away from the craziness of tapas downtown. Given the setting with an outdoor terrace it would be a better choice during warmer weather. Inside restaurant was very nice though. Food was very enjoyable. I think we will both agree that the appetizers were the highlights --... More

This is a smart yet casual restaurant with a famous wine list. The food is really, really good and is of proper portion size and a delicious mix of traditional ingredients with a modern twist. The deer was so soft and beautifully seasoned as was the suckling pig which is always a must in Spain. We will return as the... More

Friends and I had a most pleasant and delicious lunch on the terrace of Rekondo with courses ably recommended by proprietor, Lourdes, and a multi-decade line up of Spanish wines (that were divine) from her father's prodigious cellars. This was a lunch of shared appetizers including the restaurant's satisfying croquettas and particularly luscious Jamon Iberico. My roast suckling pig entree... More

Popped in there after a long day on the beach and were welcomed even though kids in shorts. Decor was stunning, incredible outside terrace. My husband and son shared the kilo of ox steak - it was rare and delicious! My daughter had the hake tail-which was done in the most delicious sauce over a thinly sliced potato. My squid... More

If you want good, excellently prepared Spanish food with top notch Iberian ham and perhaps the greatest wine cellar in Spain, go to this hilltop restaurant. Sit on the patio, let the owner's charming daughter recommend a menu to you and enjoy the day. Want wine from the 19th century, they have it, want a horizontal of Cune imperial from... More

We popped in for lunch without a reservation and fingers crossed. We were greeted pleasantly and seated at a marvelous table in the outdoor courtyard where an expansive tree covers the whole dining area. Our meal was the best ever. Croquetas, piquillo peppers stuffed with oxtail, grilled vegetables and grilled hake tail. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted even... More
