The food and wine were very good. Local produce and superb fish. The service was good despite the language barrier ion both sides. Traditional decor and very good value.

Mon-Fri Menu del dia musts. Full of locals enjoying wholesome fresh traditional food & wine. Prompt service with a smile and authentic surroundings upstairs & down. Closed Mon's in Jan. Excellent value but you may have to book a day ahead.

Nice place, quite authentic with friendly server behind the bar. Highly recommend the pimientos with veal and mushrooms!!! Very good! As well as those stuffed with cod. White local wine was above expectations and nice to finish with local digestif!!!

Up till our visit to Saibigain, we had not had much luck finding somewhere nice to eat. After being ignored for 10 minutes in one venue and then discovering that another had EXACTLY the same menu as the woeful Gorbea we finally came across this gem. A set menu with generous portions of croquetas, twelve succulent and tasty king prawns... More

Great friendly service, with waiters who seemed genuinely pleased to see you there. In the company of curing pork legs hung up on the wall, the set menu offers excellent value for money. The squid ink was sublime. Would definitely recommend.

We were a party and enjoyed the 14 Euro "Menu del Día" (house menu), including wine. There were six choices for the first dish and 12 for the main course. I have often eaten here and can sincerely recommend the excellent food. There is also a splendid à la carte list. Beware, the restaurant is upstairs and is normally full... More

Excellent pintxos, good prices, very good interior and service. I was there 3 times and it was always very crowded. I think this is real domestical bar with very good qualities for domestical people and those who feel like that.

This is a very friendly and welcoming place, which was my experience with all encountered in this city but with pretty average food at best to be honest. Food was hit and miss, such as the microwaved Spanish omelette which was cold and warm in equal measure.

This bar was one of the most authentic that we visited during our Basque Country tour. No tourists besides ourselves, but a lot of domestic and local people. The Iberico Bellotta ham is second to none. 17 EUR the plate, but from a heavenly quality. The pintxos maybe not as creative as elsewhere, but as I said authentic without too... More

They have a number of 'Menu's' at this restaurant, I went for the 12€ one which is incredible value with three courses and a bottle of wine per person (if you want that much). I can only imagine the more expensive ones must be even better. The food was local, which I love being part Basque, great quality and HUGE... More
