We love to travel around the world looking for excellent food and an experience. While visiting Aviles for the Xmas vacation, we went to "El Pañol" for lunch. We all agreed that it was one of our best meals ever. The service received was at the same level as the food. We truly had an experience to remember. We strongly... More

We pass by here occasionally when in Aviles, and we always enjoy it here. For an aperitif they have a good selection of wine and cava and the quality of the food here is very good. Friendly service from the owner and his team also help to round of the experience. We will keep coming.

A brilliant night out, with fantastic personal service, lovely food and wine and liquors. The staff were amazingly friendly, helpful, and patient with our Spanish, and made real good recommendations from their menu. A definite 5*

Great service and delicious food. Despite our lack of Spanish, the owner was friendly and helpful. Had some fantastic courses and a wonderful time.

The best wine bar in Avilés. Gerardo (the owner/bartender) is an expert oenologist who also makes the best mixed drinks in town. His gin-and-tonic is spectacular. Gerardo's wife, Paloma, originally from Logroño, is a fantastic chef with a Midas touch. Her "menestra de verduras" is beyond compare. And the location in Sabugo, the old fishermen's querters of Aviles, doesn't hurt,... More

We read the reviews in trip advisor and chose the restaurant because of the reviews. As it turned out the excellent reviews were well deserved. We had the kobe beef medallion - basically the worlds best hamburger patty with great scalloped potatoes (the english translation menu calls them "potato chips" but they are scalloped potatoes) and the iberico ham entree.... This really is a little gem well worth seeking out! We got there around 9pm and enjoyed a drink outside on the busy square before heading upstairs for our meal. The restaurant is small and the ambience very special. It was a peaceful dining experience which was welcomed after many a night spent in louder establishments! The owner (we think... More

We discovered aviles by chance and it was a great pleasure to find out Pañol restaurant. Gerardo, the owner, is very friendly and he really deserves the best for his business. Please try the entrecotte and the spanish black pudding. For vegetarians, try the menestra. Fantastic!!!!!!!
