It is a place with food of a very good level of preparation. Nothing strange, but everything at its cooking point and flavor of very good quality. It's even cheap because the portions are huge, so if you have enough people to share it can be cheap. For us, making a large mistake in quantities, we ended up with a problem of 30 euros per person, apart from the wine, and thanks to the fact that the friendly waitress took pity on us and shortened our order. The waiters work hard and you never wait and you always feel well taken care of. It seems small but the tables are very close to each other and the conversations end up being communal

It was the most heartful, warm and delicious restaurant I have ever been in Malaga. The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing with so many real art pieces by the local artist students and some of the degital pieces. All the staffs are so well educated and warm welcome for the guests. We been to some of very famous restaurants in the city center, the waiters are so rude and even didn’t want to explain, this restaurant offered us to all the dishes to have half potion, so that we could try so many delicious dishes there. The food was so so delicious and absolutely amazing all are cooked by the owner chef of the restaurant. It was completely different from the other places. Even if we were so full we couldn’t help ordering the deserts and they were so so delicious, after all finish eating so much the price of the food was much more reasonable than the famous restaurant there. If you are looking for some local nice serves and excellent quality Spanish food, I am highly recommend this restaurant than anywhere else.

It has been a fantastic experience in many ways.
The owners have been very attentive and professional and the waiters the same.(A special mention for Diego, a crack).
The food is exceptional, we have had some very good and original starters, all homemade prepared by Juan and as a main course a rice honey with carabineros , a luxury... we go looking forward to return

I think this establishment has got a little pretentious! Unfriendly staff and I wasn’t overly keen on the menu, there wasn’t much in the way of fish dishes, I thought it was high in price also! I struggled if I’m honest to find something that looked enjoyable. Think carefully before choosing and don’t always go by reviews. Check latest menus the ones on here are old. Sorry but this one to for me.

We saw this place was open on a Monday evening, with the convenience of an online booking, as well as the positive reviews so we thought we'd give it a try.
By far the worst easting experience we had in Malaga which is a real shame. The food was a mixed bag. Our Carpaccio was vibrant and delicious, but the Octopus Paella we had was bland and uninteresting. I'd give this a 3 if I was rating our experience on food alone.
The service however knocked this score down a peg to a two. We didn't feel particularly welcome on arrival. We were sat in the corner near the toilet and had a QR code unceremoniously plonked on the table. Our waiter proceeded to get us drinks, one of which was wrong (red wine instead of white). We agreed to drink it anyway and change it next course.
It then took forever to get food ordered, and we were offered several other customers food first before the staff corrected themselves.
My partner then wanted to switch wines to the original white wine she wanted, the waiter then thought it smart to point out she was drinking red, not white. I bit my tongue and insisted this is what we wanted.
Towards the end I feel we were placated by being offered some complimentary baileys for a dessert/ digestif, which was appreciated, but by this time we were fed up with the place and just wanted to escape out the door.
I can see why this place does well, however, if you don't want to risk terrible service, avoid this place until they can make the necessary changes.

We were fortunate to obtain a reservation for 3 for dinner. People raved about the food especially the seafood paella and it was exceptional and truly memorable! We ordered the paella for 2 and split it 3 ways. It was more than enough food. Probably the best seafood paella we have ever eaten.
A must to order was their avocado salad. The presentation was a work of art and was so fresh and delicious.
My husband also enjoyed the pork sausage entree.
Service was attentive.
One of our favorite restaurants in southern Spain.

Last Saturday I went to dinner and was totally amazed.
I tried a tasting menu with 4 half portions and dessert, all really delicious: the oxtail croquettes (photo), the bluefin tuna tartar with avocado, the tempura cod (super tender), the Iberian Presa for a whole day (cooked at 65º that melts in your mouth).
And what accompaniments the dishes had: what delicious sauces, what original food combinations.
Furthermore, everything is very well presented (with seaweed, flowers...)
To put the icing on the cake, a truly exquisite and original dessert: roasted pineapple with coconut mouse and toasted white chocolate (photo). Really delicious!
It is worth highlighting the excellent service and good vibes that are perceived in the kitchen and waiters team, as well as the good taste in the decoration of the restaurant (see photos).

Wonderful food, they brought us the appetizer from the house of vinegary anchovies with fried potatoes, ordered partridge pate (exquisite), bulltail croquettes (try them), Russian salad and the veal rail. Whenever we go we are delighted by the food, the hunger and especially John the cook and Diego the waiter. Thank you very much for making that little bit of food a unique experience. My wife and I arrived in Malaga from Denmark on our way to Algeciras. We decided to make a brief stopover for lunch in the town for trying some typical Spanish cuisine and for that purpose were fortunate to have chosen for it the Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas.
A very cozy and full of atmosphere place where the friendly and helpful personnel were very prompt in advising me where to find parking while they kept my wife entertained.
A well covered table, fresh baked bread, virgin olive oil and a simple but very tasteful appetizer (on the house) put the basis of the magnificent culinary experience that was to follow.
We started our lunch with a mouthwatering salad with pieces of avocado, tomatoes, red horn peppers and more, together with a thick slice of a delicious goat cheese that was topped with a caramelized sauce.
And then our main course to share, it could not be anything more local than a paella.
From the many options we chose paella with lobster. Wow!!! What a satisfying experience, both for our eyes (Buenavista) and for our noses and mouths. The aromas and flavors of the freshly prepared paella are difficult to describe with words, but they were a great celebration for our senses. They are a MUST to experience.
All these, together with a couple of glasses of white wine, an excellent service and the relaxed atmosphere for a very reasonable price, made the time to pass so fast and us to regret that we had to leave so early but taking with us an unforgettable and tasteful memory.
All in all, five thumbs up or five stars if you prefer.
And an advice, do not drive there, take a taxi or walk through the small streets of Malaga’s old town.
In this way you will have more time to enjoy Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas and the many other dishes that we di not have the time to try.

Booked online, our table was a nice quiet one at the rear of the restaurant, the wait staff were very attentive and spoke good English. The have real paper menus as well as a QR code. We shared the Octopus, large size, maybe not as tender as other ones we have had, but still good. Our main was the black paella, full of fish and very large, they plated all the paella from the dish, a little strange, however did not detract from the quality. House wine was good, overall a nice lunch at a very good price for the quality.

Recommended by a local we ate 3 shrimp and calamari paellas and a portion of rabo de toro.
Very good paella at a fair price.

A spectacular place to enjoy a unique cuisine. Everything we tried was great. The tuna tartare is Top-rated I have ever tasted and the treatment of all the waiters and the cook was unbeatable.
The place has a super original decor.

The restaurant is run by Juan a friendly man whose restaurants specialize in rice and precisely I had gut pain and made me a rice specialized in his mother's recipe that took away the problem I had and was not the typical white rice of was amazing good. My mother and my son ate a black rice that for two they ate it by themselves how good it was and it looked very good .. in addition we could talk several times with Juan and he was super friendly with my son .. a treatment not only cordial but familiar and made us feel at home ..
