Travelling solo I had a hankering for a cal place to eat, with neat white tablecloths accepting the price premium I would pay. The surrounding inside El Faro lived up to expectations as did the Lugubrious maitre'd. My starter was an intriguing grilled scallop with...More

Had lunch in the restaurant yesterday. The service is great and the menu looks good but the food is only ok. Maybe the tapa in the bar is better value

Old world charm and service. Popular among locals and tourists. You might want to reserve in advance.

Description
El Faro de Cadiz is located in the traditional neighborhood of "La Viña", where Gonzalo Cordoba started with a small bar decorated as a sailor tavern, with nets and fishing stuff, with few wooden benches and tables. The customers came in search of the famous fried fish, called "pescaito frito" daily carried by fishermen of "caleta" beach. His daily concern and desire to excel led him to transform the local expanding and providing modern facilities. Now retired, his spirit of service and commitment to others is part of our principle to keep shining gastronomically Cadiz and we are proud to continue this work. El Faro Cadiz is still committed to the tradition to move forward and offer the best of our sea and our land to our clients.
