Close the town center good food in large quantities and reasonable prices, cold beer and very friendly personnel. I would highly recommend it.

Had dinner here during my stay and was impressed. It's a real heart food kind of place, plenty of meaty meals. I had the hunters Schnitzel which was excellent and very filling, I believe you can get it in different sizes, I opted for the middle size. Nice beer and the place was full, always a good sign.

Look, the Eckstein isn't going to win any awards for culinary ingenuity but that's not the point and not why people come here. It's a very busy place on a Sunday lunchtime, families, couples, pensioners mulling over the week behind and the week ahead as they tuck into their schnitzels and grilltellers. Kassel is a good honest bourgeois town right... More

We had dinner here and felt lucky they could accommodate three adults, two infants and two large strollers, as the restaurant was very crowded. Our waitress was very kind to us and made us feel very welcome. This is the place to eat schnitzel, as they have every style of it on the menu. Service was prompt, which was most... More

Relaxed, friendly service. I ordered off the A la Carte menu but actually they charged me the cheaper lunch time price - many places wouldn't. Schnitzel was good, not amazing and would have liked more salad, but pretty good. Especially for the price. Would recommend for an easy lunch if you're in town, on your own or not.

Visited here twice on business lunches. Unfortunately, my German skills are woeful and these folks had difficulty accomodating the language barrier. The food is good and the prices reasonable.

We got a tip from local friend that this is THE place where to get best german Schnitzels - and it didn't disappoint us at all. Great food in great atmosphere.
