Very nice and cultural decoration inside with the sandy floor. The waiters and waitresses were super friendly and they taught us how to eat with our hands and bread. The portion was big for the platte. Highly recommend those drinks. Very tasty and also looks beautiful. Quite an experience in this restaurant.

The food was very tasty and filling. Although I only got takeaway, I wish I'd eaten in. The interior is amazing and has such a strong ambience. I highly recommend going to this place just to check out the vibe and to experience Ethiopian culture and cuisine. As part of this authentic experience, the food is eaten with your hands using bread, and I really appreciated that they had a gluten free alternative that meant I did not miss out on the experience.
The waitress for this place was extremely knowledgeable about the food and helped me a lot with navigating the menu despite my dietary requirements. The food tasted really good and you get a huge portion so you will definitely not leave feeling hungry.
My one critique would be that the food was quite expensive (~15EUR) for a portion which was about double what I needed. I would have really loved a half portion of the food for half the price, although if I had been able to share with another person this would have been perfect.

I have always enjoyed african restaurant. Also base on tripadvors rankings I had high expectations for this restaurant.
I was a bit disappointed.
You can have different vegan or meat based stews served on a sort of pitta bread with which you should take the stew and eat it.
I think the taste of the bread is so strong that killer the taste of the stew. I had chikpeas, beef with okra lentils and chicken. They all tasted almost the same until the really end when i asked for cutlery and i could eat the stews without the bread. Only then i realized the stews were delicious.
My humbe recommendation: eat the european way, ask for cutlery you will enjoy african delicious stews more.

What a pleasant surprise with our Eritrean cuisine! The staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful in answering our queries regarding the dishes. The group platter of five out of wight dishes gives a good sampling of their tasty dishes.
Definitely worth a visit when in Frankfurt!

Wonderful Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant in Frankfurt. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff managed to find us a table. Fun, casual atmosphere. Staff speak English, and were able to make recommendations based on eating restrictions and allergies. A great restaurant for first-timers and connoisseurs alike.

From the minute we walked into the restaurant, we felt totally relaxed and comfortable: the decor, the lighting and the music was just perfect. It wasn't too loud and nothing was rushed. The service was excellent - the waitress was super friendly and attentive.
All the food was tasty and some dishes were spicy. The drinks were delicious too.

We love everything we ate there! The food was so delicious and we also ordered the green tea, which were very authentic! And this restaurant did provide a covid safe environment. The staffs wore masks too. Highly recommended! Def will come visit again!

Very nicely decorated restaurant with two areas including a cellar area. Very friendly and attentive service, delicious food and good wines. We only lost points because the menu is really very manageable, there is one starter, otherwise you can only order mixed platters where you can choose five of eight dishes, vegetarian or with meat. It doesn't get five points because you can't order them individually, at least that wasn't what it said on the menu.
I'd be happy to go back!

The staff was very friendly. There was no table available at first, but we were allowed to wait inside. When a table became available, we were immediately informed. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food was very tasty and the price-quality ratio was good. All in all, a top experience! PS. If you can spare it, leave a tip for this team ;)

Top 5 restaurant for me in Frankfurt. The atmosphere is very unusual with a taste of Africa (in both restaurants side by side), the service is always so hospitable, it's very clean and the food is delicious with a menu of unusual drinks. I ate here with my family and the kids loved it so we will return again. I can't complain about anything.

For me it is already a good tradition to eat at least once in the heart of Africa during my annual business visit to Frankfurt. A totally relaxed store, totally nice, personal and natural service and fantastic food. In addition, beautiful, selected partly African beers and rosé wine. Really an absolute experience, you can even make quite nice on your own, but much nicer in company. Top Recommendation!

Conceptually this is a great restaurant. However, I was slightly disappointed with the food (vegetarian mixed platter). It looked rather dull (but I think that's sort of how it's supposed to look), but more disappointingly it also lacked some taste. It was basically ok, but I was definitely expecting more.

I can fully confirm the positive reviews. It starts with the rustic decor, the super friendly service and the delicious finger food. I recommend the spicy stuff like chicken. In addition, a reasonable price of 19 euros for the record and a delicious homemade soda. It is also crowded during the week with mostly young audiences, correspondingly loud. The location is beautiful and special. I have never seen such a facility and felt extremely comfortable.
The service is very nice, accommodating and warm.
Only the food I didn't really like and had quite little taste. I am often Eritrean food and knew this much better. Would therefore probably not come back.

Loved the food and the service was fantastic. Everything from the hummus to the vegetarian platter and drinks were perfect. Best meal I have had in a long time. We sat in a cute little alcove off of the stairs in the space to the right of the main seating area. It was great and so fun. Will definitely return. Very authentic experience.
