Located inside the Grand Elysee Hotel. Serves lunch, afternoon coffee (with good cakes and pastries) and dinner. Above-average brasserie food, featuring regional and seasonal specialties. Nice outdoor seating although the proximity to the busy Rothenbaumchaussee may be a bit bothersome. The friendly, personalized service stands out.

As I was looking for a table the waiter kindly invited me to take place and suggested to start with something 'sparkling'. Can you say no? ;-)) After a while he came with the menu but offered me also a housespecial of the day; asparagus. Delicious was an understatement and they knew how to pair it with the perfect wine.... More

I came across the Brasserie Flum, as it seems to called now, by chance, having just dined at a restaurant up the street a bit. When I saw Bouef Bourguignon on the menu I decided I would eat there the following night. I had a table outside was looking forward to dining here. I started with French onion soup. It... More

I arrived in the evening at my hotel a few minutes' walk away and tried this restaurant for dinner. I was in shorts and a tee shirt and felt underdressed, even sitting outside. It was more expensive than I expected too, but that's on me for not checking the prices before sitting down. My favorite aspect: the salted butter served... More

Nice selection of dishes. Had an appetiser of those small shrimps with radish and thyme, and a main dish of roasted salmon with black pepper and vegetables. Was overall nice.

I had a business dinner. I ate salmon tartar as starter and I enjoyed it. However, as main course I ordered a well done entrecôte. I received the meat after a long wait between starter and main, but I had to send it back as it was undercook for me. I received few minutes later the same steak, pan fried... More

I had a club sandwich in the bar. I wished I hadn't. It was dull and poor quality. My friend had pasta which looked unexciting. There was live music which was the best thing about the place. Pilsner beer was decent too. Eat elsewhere, perhaps in one of the two restaurants - but not bar food.

The Brasserie feels just as laid back as it should - but with frisk class food at reasonable prices.

With the aid of numerous Art Nouveau elements and a beautifully designed Art Nouveau ceiling, architect Max Flum has conjured up the character of a genuine Parisian brasserie. Enjoy a typical bouillabaisse or as main course a boeuf Bourguignon. Lunch menu with specials Daily lunches from noon - 3.00 pm. Plat du Jour costs 13.00 euros
