Wow, what a selection and what knowledgeable staff - will definitely visit again. There was a separate whiskey and gin menu, great atmosphere and you can smoke inside!

Freudenhaus literally means House of Joy and it definitely was. The restaurant is decorated with seductive art work, which i guess is appropriate given the proximity to the Reeperbahn! The food was amazing. We all ended up having the schnitzel, which was easily the biggest I have ever eaten! When the food arrived there were 2 oversized portions on each... More

Visited this on off chance. Only one table available for 90 mins which was fine with us. I ordered Wiener Schnitzel and when it arrived it was the biggest I have seen. Could not believe they could do this for the price! Lovely flavour, and served with Sauté potatoes. Partner had fish which was also excellent.

Didn't eat here, but called in twice for drinks. What an amazing little place. The amazing choices for drinks. And the staff appeared to know what they were serving and talking about. Popping atmosphere. Would go back without a doubt

Despite the cheeky name that means "house of pleasure", this is a restaurant that serves decent local dishes in a nice atmosphere. It is popular with locals and tourists alike and reservations are recommended. Its proximity to Hamburg's famed night life district makes it an attractive place to visit and it is suitable for small to large groups. Perhaps a... More

I was in this restaurant with friends for Dinner. The place is totally crazy decorated and the staff ist friendly and funny. You have to make reservations. The food ist simply great and the portions are big. If you are a cigar or pipe or cigarrette snoker, after the meal they have a smoking bar around the corner with perfect... More

Ambiance was dramatic with dark reds and large framed pictures of bare ladies. Food was just what I had expected (and wanted being in German), Big and homely but delicious, service was great. This Restaurant is a must if you visit Hamburg!

Six of us went to Hamburg to visit Miniature Wunderland. We booked this restaurant by email before we left from the UK. Our table was ready when we arrived and the food was excellent. The wines were recommended by our host and complemented the food perfectly. Service was exceptional. I think we were one of the first groups to arrive... More

Went in looking for an authentic meal. I had the veal schnitzel, which was ok. My sister, the vegetarian, had these odd balls filled with quark and chives...she was trying to be adventurous but she really didn't care for them. They were odd. My mom had something listed on the menu as "Rudolph" (venison). She liked hers quite a bit.... More
