This restaurant is so charming. We were greeted by really friendly staff, had our coats taken and waited upon with care and attention. The atmosphere was warm, cozy and elegant/romantic. The soup and duck were so tasty and the portions were substantial. I was very interested in the history of the street and buildings and was really impressed when the... More

Krayenkamp is in my book of Hamburg as the oldest terrace of houses in the world. The guidebook gave the address, but it was still difficult to find. Number 10 krayenkamp leads into a small alleyway with very old buildings in them, including a gift shop and book shop and the restaurant. My friend and I wanted only a piece... More

We wanted a authentic German restaurant with good food and atmosphere and not a tourist trap and we found it in this one...great welcome and accommodated us coming in hours before our reservation because our tour had ended early nearby. Really recommend!

In Krayenkamp, an alley of preserved 17th Century residences claiming to be the Worlds oldest set of terraced houses, close to the St Michael Church. We visited just for hot drinks on a cold Tuesday morning waiting for a service to finish so we could enter the Church. A quaint cafe worth a visit

We ducked into a back alley whilst exploring the city and stumbled upon this restaurant for a late lunch. The staff were attentive and spent time making sure that we found what we wanted on the menu - they made a great impression with my teenage son on his first trip to Germany both with their welcome and their food.... We found this place on TA and were happy to find respite from the hold outside. Though the menu isn't huge, it had a good selection of starters and mains with vegetarian options too.

Interiors of the place reminded me of an old English home- a bit too cosy for my taste. We visited here for dinner - we had almost a room for ourselves. The staff were very friendly and engaging - helping us decode the menu. I have to warn that this is not the best place for vegetarians possibly - they... More

Very different. Quite a small place situated off the beaten track. The food was excellent. I had the home made soup followed by the plaice which was delicious, my husband had Caesar salad then Weiner Schnitzel which was equally enjoyable. I did find the restaurant very cold so would recommend wearing something warm if visiting during the winter months.

Not great and extremely expensive for what we got.... in a word 'disappointed'! I brought my family hear because of the great reviews and authentic look of the place from the outside! However when we entered and reviewed the menu our suspicions we telling us we'd made a mistake and they ended up being correct! The menu didn't impress at... More

Dear SionOHare, we are very sorry about the fact that you and your family where disappointed with your stay in our restaurant. I have asked the waiter and they were not aware that you where not happy with the location itself and the meal you have chosen. As a rule we are asking always our guests if they are happy... More

Food was very good but unfortunately it was let down by being very cold in the room we sat in which was to the left as you went in. My wife even with her coat on was cold
