Deichgraf is a cosy restaurant where you go for some traditional food of Hamburg. I'd a small portion of the traditional labskaus as starter and the fried plaice as main course. They're both quite good. I was the only tourist in the night I went. All staff spoke English and there's an English menu.

Most hospitable establishment exuding a warmth of atmosphere in a beautifully appointed and elegant room, rare to find in this day and age as if from a bygone era. The most affable couple, she front of house and he in the kitchen know how to make you feel right at home.

Hamburg was last call on round the world trip. This was the best restaurant we ate in. Service and food were excellent in a low key, comfortable but not formal atmosphere. Definitely most highly recommended.

We visited Hamburg in December 2014, primarily to see the Christmas fairs. As well as enjoying the place tremendously we came across one or two gems on the food front, this being one of them. Deichgraf is a beautiful set of rooms in an old building in Deichstrasse. Both the food and the service were excellent. We had the classic... More

Came here with my wife and our 2 children (2 & 5 years) after we went to the miniature wunderland. Didn't expect much but we were just very hungry. Kids had fish sticks with fries and I had a wiener snitzel. It was very nice and not that expensive. I would definitely go here again.

My wife and I wanted to experience some typical North German cuisine and the Deichgraf didn't disappoint. Although the restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived - 19.30 - we liked the intimate atmosphere and were very taken with the helpfulness of the waitresses. Although I speak German my wife doesn't so it was very helpful that their English was... More

Nice German food with a large variation on the menu. The staff was service-minded and went the extra mile to please us in any way :-)

We wanted to try German food and hotel staff recommended this restaurant. This is a small restaurant but the deco inside is classically European which we like. Ordered duck - very tender and juicy. Note that this is not "Bavarian" restaurant so didn't see schnitzel or Schweinshaxe but still very good.

Deichgraf is one of the old restaurants in the district facing the river. Is has classic food on the menu, and I recommend to book a table as it is a popular place. Service and food is top quality
