Having been in the Hofbrauhaus in Munich we thought we would try this one-walked in at teatime and it was empty!!! Very disappointing-no atmosphere had one drink and left.

The food was ok but we waited a long time between ordering and food arriving. The waiter in charge however was the rudest I have ever encountered in 30 years of visiting Germany. He was rude to all the customers not just us and then when asked for the bill he claimed not to know what we had ordered and... More

The roast pork wasnt not that roasted, with a lot of sauce which didnt allowed to taste the pork itself, the only thing that save it in my opinion is the pork knuckle which i tried for one friend and was tasty. The service was ok, but as they have the kind of disco or bar close to it with... More

We looked for a traditional german place to eat and asked this local german man on the street and he recommended this place. We ordered a schnitzel for my partner and a Bavarian tapas plate for me and a burger for our son and chips and sausages for our girls. They had a play area for children. The setting is... More

Weisbier as expected but sparkling wine for the lady was white wine with soda. The service was ok. The place was quite empty and we would not want to eat there.

This is a weak attempt to copy the Munich original in Bremen. The service was poor and did not understand or ignored my wishes, the food was plenty, but type microwave oven, not fresh and not very tasty. Prices were fair, the beer was good and the atmosphere was ok. So go for drinks, not recommended for their food...

Every native of northern Germany will tell you that Bavaria is not really Germany but one thing is for sure, no one does Schweinshaxe like the Bavarian's do. The Hofbrauhaus is a little oasis of Bavaria in Bremen and it does an ok copy of a much loved Munich meal. On the night I was there, it was Euro2016 fotball... More

Bavarian food (pork prepared in a wide range of forms) with maß (1 L beer) are the main attraction. Typical German stereotype, although it has nothing to do with north Germany. Service can take a while in crowded hours, but is fast when not.

For those for a taste with a more southern flavor, try the Hofbrauhaus Bremen (an offshoot of the Hofbrauhaus Munich). The menu has a selection of starters, tasters, salads, and main courses, along with a kids menu and deserts. The main menu is in German, but they do have a separate English menu. You will not walk out hungry.
