Good value restaurant and excellent meals. Looks small from the outside but inside it stretches a fair way to the rear including a garden. I had Schnitzel and my wife had Kassler, both very tasty, followed by pancakes. We also had 3 half litre beers and a half litre house wine all for 64 Euros. Along with the old world... More

Large portions of traditional German food. The house beer is very palatable. Service was friendly and quite swift.

Apologies for the length of this review but I felt it necessary to relay the events of this experience accurately. On March 18th 2017, we visited this restaurant. We were a group of 19 from a University in London visiting Berlin for just one day and night. The group was made up of men and women from all around the... More

Me and my friends wanted to visit a typical German restaurant with local food and beer. And we found it coincidentally. We did not read any reviews and had no opinion in advance. Now we could recommend to everyone who wants to spend an evening pretending being German :) Interior and the food - all with character. Especially we loved... More

I was interested in this restaurant: nice interior, wide range of dishes and breakfasts, great location. But the latest reviews made me put Zillemarkt aside. But by happenstance we appeared to be very hungry at Savigny platz, so the choice was obvious. Didn't regret at all. Ordered a plate of Berlin specialties (too much for two girls, for sure, took... I returned to Zillemarkt with fond memories. For reasons unknown my body was craving something deep-fried so I cracked and ordered 'Heinrichs Schnitzel'. When it arrived it was instantly apparent why Heinrich is no longer with us. I was served a heart attack on a plate. The pork schnitzel was as big as a size 12 boot and about as... More

Decided to go here after being at Klo and what difference. The owner is very welcoming and her staff are fabulous. Great selection of drinks and served with a smile. We decided to try the apple strudel and mmmm it was delicious. The other food looked lovely only wish we had eaten here but alas time and full stomachs wouldn't... More

The hotel desk had recommended this restaurant as one that has good German food and they were spot on! The waiter spoke excellent english and was able to give us all sorts of suggestions. He was friendly and personable and very attentive. There were 4 of us and we shared a large platter filled with all sorts of German delicacies... More

Chose this place because we wanted to go local and authentic– a landmark Berliner restaurant, resonating with history going back to turn-of-the-last-century heyday Berlin. But don’t go there for the food! Potato soup had consistency – and flavor – of wallpaper paste. Whether you chose meatballs with sauce, or some other kind, what you got was big, dense balls of... Since the turn of the century exists a restaurant in Charlottenburg which is well-known as a synonym for comfortableness and quality. Nostalgia and the modern age are combined successfully here.

Zille's inheritance is ever-present in our traditional restaurant. The glass fassade which has originally been preserved, the cobbled surface of the floor and the old pharmacist sideboard that has been changed to a bar, show more than 100 years of the restaurant's history.
You can stay relaxed in this authentic nostalgic atmosphere, enjoy the best meals ever and let us spoil you the best way.
The Zillemarkt belongs to Berlin as the Brandenburger Tor and the Spree!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
