We have pined for a good Indian restaurant, living in Brazil. In London, easy-peasy. In Berlin, we've found one. Ashoka is a tiny restaurant that seems to specialize in take-out for the hip young crowd that lives near Savigny-Platz. The young hipsters know a thing or two. The food is great. It is properly spiced and there is a nice... More

This place is pretty basic but the food is pretty authentic. No chicken tikka masala, but the saag lamb was outstanding.

This is an ideal place to have a cup of Masala chai and Samosa for evening snacks. Small cosy place with friendly staff.

Small Indian restaurant with very tasty indian food. They serve curries with Bhature or rice, good quantity sufficient for 1 person and a kid may be. Loved Chole and PAneer items. Samosas are also good.Over all good for Cheap eats.

Very happy with the food and the service. The price was particularly good for a straightforward tasty meal at the end of a day being a tourist!

Very low key in appeal and decor, only handful of tables (a few more on the sidewalk in summer). Still, we come back time and again for the great food: really tasty, fresh and (as far as I can tell from several months traveling India, really close to authentic. After years, one would expect they invest even a little in... More

Stumbled upon this place by chance. Fab 'imbis' style place with just a few tables. So it could do with a lick of paint but then that's part if it's charm! Food spot on - Chicken saag and bathura bread were lovely.

Went here on a whim after leaving the Apple Store. It's a tiny restaurant but great and attentive staff. I ordered lamb saag which was average, I've had better. The naan was delicious. Best part was that the meal was filling and cheap. Not bad if in the area looking for something to eat.

Walked in to the restaurant a thought "I want to eat here" - the smell was amazing, smell og herbs and Indian spices. The atmosphere great, very little restaurant with a felling of India, but that´s where the good ended. We ordered food, and the starters "samosas" came. The dough was dark and way over done, but the inside still... More

It's not a big restaurant but it's a great one for the food. Sooooo delicious. I was starving and when i left it i was more than full. I have ordered a chicken biryani for 6,50 euros. Fantastic dish ! I recommand this restaurant.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
