We have been to several other Michelin starred restaurants. That alone keeps me wondering how this place merits even one star, not to mention two. Their attitude was so condescending that I really find it difficult to justify having paid more than USD 800 for a dinner at this restaurant. The sommelier had the manners of a pirate. The first... The food was inventive as well as superb. The restaurant is also very comfortable, with the decor being simplified old world Europa. Everyone on the staff was lovely, providing expert service with warmth. It was my first time at the restaurant and my husband's second.

We were keen to return for another meal after our first superb experience a couple of years ago, and were extremely happy to find it still delivering at top level. We felt relaxed immediately, as although they have a formal structure (including dress code), the service is personable friendly helpful and very efficient, so you can simply enjoy the stunning... I had breakfast here with colleagues and it was excellent! The food was delicious! I ordered eggs benedict. The flavours in my dish were perfectly balanced. We also had a great selection of cheeses, cured meats, jams served on a multi-tiered silver dish. The service was excellent! We never ran out of bread or anything we could possibly want. The... The dining room is elegant and classical. Lots of space between tables so there is no intrusion from other diners though it does make the atmosphere seem quiet. We were there Saturday evening. The food was as you would expect, excellently done and carefully presented. We had mostly fish courses. It tends more toward classical than experimental dishes that you... More

The menu gives you an option of several prix fixe choices but it is also possible to have a la carte. You can also have wine pairings with the meal. There is not a huge selection on the menu to choose from, but everything we had was excellent. We let them know in advance that one person was a vegetarian,... More

The restaurant offers set meals as well as a la carte. The food was OK and the service impeccable. Not cheap but you'd expect that from a Michelin star restaurant

This was my first visit to a 2 star Michelin in Berlin restaurant and I was disappointed. After the dinner we feel not well and we throwing up ,something with the foods was not good and all the night we spend in the toilet. Food was not good- to salty - it wasn't innovative in any way. I expected a... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
