Visited after a blog recommended it.the food is not expensive, but not great either. The problems begun when I asked for a coffee and the milk in it was sour.the owner Started getting nervous and argumentative about it ,took it back, did not offer anything else, and our table was considered from then onwards as a 'problem.' As the bill arrived he charged... More

There you will hear soft french songs, meet very open and charming owner, who will tell you what menu does he have today with french accent :) 9.50€ is 3 course menu , and they are different.i would recommend take the menu with lamb wurst and couscous and have a glass of rosé 🍷 Worth trying at least ones.

PLEASE AVOID! We visited due to positive reviews reporting good quality meals for low price, but in reality it was the opposite. For 9,50 EUR you get 3 micro-dishes that originate from deep frozen ready made components. First dish was a slice of pate (literally size 2 x 4 cm!). Than we got a "baked duck or chicken leg" which... More

Three course meal for 7.50 Euros! French cuisine served in the unique, friendly, French style of Jean Claude, the proprietor.

If you speak French, Jean-Claude will love you. Three menus, standard French home-cooked fare, granted it's not going to be the best meal of your life but it will be one of the most hilarious (and wallet friendly) evenings you can have in Berlin. Jean-Claude and Matthieu (chef) are wonderful, bubbly, French, eccentric and have a great thing going here.... More

When you think of French food, you think expensive - here is the exception. Three course meal for €7.50 you say? Yes, say I! Three menus to choose from, mismatched table and chairs - no flair at all and that is what I loved. Jean-Claude was such an funny and nice character running the place with the cook - just... More

We looked for this place based on entries in travel guides. The warning signs were there - book a few years old + awards signs from a few years ago. As there is nothing on display, and only two people eating, we asked for a menu before we sat down - reasonable request to see type of food and prices.... More

Walking through this busy area of Berlin the restaurant looked a little inusual but had a lot of charm. Inside it looked funky, furniture was an electic collection to say the least. But I was attracted ...on entry the owner was passionate about his food, it was full of locals ..it was a simple three course menu, but full of... More

Let´s get one thing straight, the food is nothing special, it is the kind of thing you´d stir up yourself at home for a decent wednesday night meal. BUT, when you have a three course meal for 7.50 euros you really have to salute the restaurant for it´s price worthiness here. Also I find this place super funny as the... More

We went there for lunch and were offered to choose between 3 menus. Although the pricing is low, we were largely put off by the low quality of the food, the lengthy service and the dubious cleaneliness of the restaurant. As for the owner/waiter, his service is not friendly but rather pushy and grows annoying as he seem to play... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
