The offerings are unimaginative. A mish mash of some classic some modern French and German. The owner is unfriendly and a bit of a snob. Even though we had eaten dinner there a few nights before, when we came back and wanted only dessert and coffee, he would not serve us claiming we would be taking up a table which... More

Decided to try this restaurant on our last day in Berlin. The food was delicious. We only had mains, the duck and the gambas prawn. Both were lovely. It is a bit more expensive than the other restaurants but worth the money.

We went there with a group of some 20 people. On short notice we anticipate the booking by one day. When arriving a table inside was prepared but, weather was great and we asked to change to terrace. All this was done without any negative comment and the team was very flexible. The location is very nice along the Spree... More

The setting on the Spree canal is wonderful on a hot sunny Sunday especially when we arrived by chance just after the main lunch rush. Service was not speedy but we wanted a long leisurely afternoon so spend around 3 hours working our way through 4 courses. We started with oysters, followed by fresh and vibrant green asparagus for my... More

it was quite close to our hotel "novotel berlin mitte"...just about 200-300mts next to the river spree canal. The place carries and old charm and is quite a comforting feeling. you can sit inside or outside ...by the water. though the place is small, the service is quite good and food is outstanding. Some may find it a bit expensive...expect... More

A nice French restaurant pleasantly sited by the water in the 'Nikolai' quarter. What impressed me in contrast to many continental restaurants was the offering of tap water rather than the insistence on bottled water. And the food was first rate.

We were there with the family and friends. Waiting time for the food was roughly 1 hour and a half. This wasn't only for us as we observed during our stay. Fish was dry and tasteless. Meat wasn't medium as we ordered. Quality of the meat as well as the taste didn't met the expectations based on the price. We... More

I was looking for new French restaurants in Berlin (well by new I mean that I haven't tried yet) and this place sounded nice from the reviews and the online menu. Service was friendly but could be improved, I had to wait quite a long time for just water... From the menu, it looks that they don't put cheese in... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
