Been to the place twice. Tasty food, nice staff and a warm cozy atmosphere. Would recommend the Patatas Bravas and especially the "Queso de cabra gratinado con sésamo" which was delicious.

We'd walked past Atame a couple of times and thought it looked like a great spot for a cheeky pre-dinner drink. Returning later and significantly more peckish than planned, we accompanied our bulbous G&Ts (great to see Fever Tree tonic water not carrying the premium cost it does in the UK) with a couple of their tapas plates. These sample... More

We ordered the following tapas-plates; Chorizo, Octopus, Quail,Lamb,Tomato and Onion salad, Razor clams. The outstanding choice for our taste was the chorizo and quail. The quail is served with polenta and a chocolate sauce, TASTY! The chorizo is not spicey, but a lot of flavor. All dishes come with fresh breads. I asked one of the servers how long the... More

Tapas - there are and it is worth tasting. Good service, good choice of drinks. What not to expect: the Spanish flair of hanging out, enjoying yourself with the tapas on the side.

It was our first night in Berlin and we resorted to this restaurant because it looked packed and lively. It took us 2mn to order, almost 20 to get our drinks, 1hr to finally get our tapas. Portions were just ridiculously small. I hate waste of food and clearly understand that less is more. But nothing is hungry! Service was... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
