I visited Berlin last week and I stayed very close to Wintergarten in Literaturhaus. I ate dinner and it was one of the best snitzels you can have in Berlin. The menu is international, but it has several vegetarian options and also some traditional German dishes (2 or 3) Also soups, sandwiches and salads. I went with a friend and... More

What a nice place in the middle of buzzing Berlin. Already while walking through the garden you start to relax and the nice setting inside does the rest. Very nice menu for breakfast, great choices and really good food to start your day on a weekend.

I love the place, it's very atmospheric. Here writers still gather to read out loud their pieces, as I was told. Nice winter garden. Love their hand-written menus. The coffee is ok, but it's a bit pricy.

Whether you are a tourist or local, this place does not seem friendly or welcoming. I was lucky to get a table given I was solo and so they fit me to what seems to be the one and only non-reserved table. On a Saturday morning around 10:30-11, handful of tables had reserved marked and the super observant me (also... More

The location is stunning - behind a greenery wall in a busy street - with chairs and tables outside. The portions are smaller so it was a bit pricy - we had sandwiches and they take the edges out(!) but the filling was delicious. Coffee was just average... Right next to the museum we were going to visit so perfect... More

Truly a good surprise to be able to access this villa in the middle of a nice garden! You walk 50 meters off the Ku’dam and feel (almost!) like out of town. Had a pleasant if not unforgettable late breakfast there. Service is not very quick but overall quality was good and the setting very relaxing. Will definitely return more... More

This place is great for breakfast, lovely surrounding, great food and great service too, my German is woeful but most of the staff can get the jist of what you're trying to say and speak good English. Personal recommend the homemade waffles and the pancakes too! 👍

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
