German food is not what we came to Berlin for, yet we found Keyser Soze on our first afternoon here and managed to end up back here most days on our 4 day trip. Excellent for breakfast we also had lunch and afternoon tea here as well as a late night drink. The apple strudel is a masterpiece well worth... More

Lovely cafe in a nice corner in central Berlin, offering a large selection of warm and cold drinks, wine, beers, food and deserts. We had coffee and one of their cheesecakes which was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing and the staff is very friendly. Perfect for an evening hang out.

Awful breakfast, flabby wet pancake, poor fruit salad and the driest croissant! All of the basics done badly with forgetful staff .

Stopped by here a couple of times during the Berlin Marathon weekend. Cool neighbourhood with loads going on. Friendly staff and English menu. Comfy seats outside to sit and watch the world go bye. Good food and drink with a really broad selection for lunch and dinner. Would definitely recommend.

Visited with my girlfriend for a late Sunday breakfast. Let's just say it was an experience, an experience in arrogance, terrible service and bad food. If one was to temporarily resort to city stereotypes it could be said to have been a surprise that the restaurant was in Berlin and not in Paris, that's how arrogant the staff was. The... More

We came across this place when walking after dinner. We popped in for a drink and liked the location and relaxed atmosphere.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a place for breakfast and so glad we did. The choice on offer was great and the freshly squeezed juices to die for. All food freshly prepared so took a bit of time but we had no problem with that just had a coffee while we waited. The staff were excellent and attentive... More

This lovely place was super close to our hotel and we only ended up there on the last night cause of some bad service from the restaurant we had planned to go to, but I'm so glad we did! The service was super friendly, definitely the best we experienced whilst in Berlin. The music was really cool, the drinks were... More

Great location and decent venue with nice atmosphere and very good coffee and a varied menu for brunch food... Service was pleasant if a bit slow and food was fine, but nothing special for the prices paid.

Thank David F

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
