Sorry, this is overrated tosh. You will find many recommendations for this bar on the internet but do yourself a favour and avoid. The cocktails are 12 Euro a pop and just pure alcohol concoctions which would be better suited to cleaning rust off a wheelbarrow. The bar hides behind some form of exclusive charade (buzzer to get in, water... More

Becketts Kopf is somewhat hard to find - ring the bell, and the waiter will let you in. The drinks are poetic - their names as well as their tastes. But be aware that the drinks are not sweet things you can slurp in moments. They are delicious, but require - and deserve - to be enjoyed. Three tips: book... More

A friend from Berlin took me here for a post dinner cocktail. Genuinely a great experience. Great unique cocktails, very attentive and polite staff and a superb atmosphere.

the place was OK, it gets great ratings for cocktails but if you have to wait 45 minutes for a drink, why would yoyu the English manager, when we told him we were 9 instead of 7 said we can't fit you in (they were empty) we said we'd squeeze in he said THIS ISN'T MCDONALDS well it wasn't, not... Becketts Kopf surprised me from start to finish. This place was recommended by a friend of mine, and at first glance looks very unappealing but that quickly changed once we got in and sat down. The bartender was working his magic making a cocktail for another customer while his colleague took our orders. He made suggestions and recommendations based on... More

loved the concept here, hidden away in a quiet part of prenzlauer berg and a doorbell to get in. an ambient bar and cocktails fancier than we're used to. (expensive, but clearly exquisite ingredients). stayed for one drink but that took up over half an hour, the bar staff asking about our preferences and making suggestions was a nice personal... This is a great little place off the beaten track. There were four of us and I can't remember where I had heard about it but it sounded interesting. We only went for drinks. The main guy there (who might have been the owner) was very passionate about the drinks and they can make cocktails to suit your taste without... More

I was taken to this bar as a surprise by friends so I didn't really know what to expect but it was better than I could have imagined! The cocktails are fantastic and the staff are very friendly and chatty. We didn't order a specific drink- the hostess just asked us which alcohol and what sort of flavours we liked... More

Margaritas very heavy on the tequila, triple sec or cointreau not apparent and too light on the lime, the balance was just wrong. Rather expensive at 11 euro for the small glass used. Staff friendly enough but I found the whole experience somewhat pretentious.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
