small restaurant with only one 4-course menue, nevertheless you have a choice between soup or vegetable as first course than salad, 3rd course is coq au vin and 2 or 3 other main dishes last is apple pie. All for 21 €. The personal is attentive and in good humour. Typical Berlin people as they should be. In case of... More

I went for dinner there with a group of friends following a recommendation from a friend in Berlin. I have to say it was worth it. The food was delicious, very good value (4 courses for €21) and great service. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend this restaurant !

Reserved our table via email and phone from the States and showed up with our gang of seven to experience the 'famous' 4 course dinner. We were friendly welcomed in the newly refurbished interior and enjoyed indeed a very pleasant variety of food, good drinks, attentive and friendly service. The menu price per person is less than $25, drinks not... More

The food is always exquisite, with a beautiful menu for E21, and it was Asparagus season, so a special treat. Our waitress was amazing, handling all the tables by herself, accommodating a coeliac diner (you really should let them know ahead), and being utterly charming. I try never to miss going here when I am in Berlin. Worth the trip... More

Great value set menu, nice relaxed atmosphere. My only negative was that the service could have been a bit friendlier. Would definitely recommend!

you should book in advance, we went on a sunday night & it was busy! They offer a great 3 course menu deal, everything was great. Nice wines and attentive staff - they catered to my boyfriend's (nut) allergies too.

well here in a typical cozy district of berlin on a day-busy-square you sit comfortable at wooden tables in a room which is more looking like a living room, just great for an easy dinner, but the food is delicious. their menu is set on a page, that's it, but a choice of a starter, 4 different mains and a... We tried to book this restaurant for a Saturday evening but they had a private function, so we booked for Sunday instead. Glad we persisted and didn't choose another venue. The food looked, smelled and tasted great. The menu is fixed, but we each had a different one of the mains, all were efficiently served at the same time. There... More

Chose the restaurant because of its quirky name to later learn that it is from a German/French nursery rhyme. Traditional German and French rural cuisine - very hearty and good quality. Menu is semi-fixed but they do it so well, with delicious sauces and dressings. Four course meal for a very reasonable price. Wait staff were friendly and offered excellent... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
