I wish we could have tried more items from the menu as undoubtedly they would have been good. The 'butcher' in an excellent choice for a hearty simple meal if you are searching for meat. The low key, raw furnishings complement the simple dishes that are long on taste. The steak was prepared perfectly and the flavor of the meat... More

Been with my collegues on business trip we had a great dinner sharing beautiful plates of meat to be able to try several bits of the menu. I was also surprised by the incredibly tastings sides as mushrooms and asparagus and wine list was offering a good selection as well. Service was friendly and they gave us good tips and... More

I was here for a mid-week dinner with friends, one friend having raved about it. Although service in Berlin generally seems poor, I was still disappointed when the waiter - or kitchen, or actually both - forgot my soup as a starter. I had to walk up to the waiter at the kitchen window and tell him to cancel the... More

We had been reccomended Fleischrei as a great spot for a casual meaty dinner, with some good wine on a recent trip to Berlin. Unfortunately both my partner and I left feeling a little shortchanged by our experience. First, the service was pretty surly from our blonde waitress, she didnt extend a warm welcome or greeting, but maybe thats just... More

Man the food was completely average and as expensive as Switzerland. This restaurant does not actually fit into the restaurant scene of Berlin. I ordered a Burrata with veggies and that too it wasn't the original Italian. Made locally. The highlight was that the server wrote especially on the bill "TIP IS NOT INCLUDED!!!!!!!!!" I think this was quite an... More

Great service. Great ambiance. Food and drink a little on the expensive side but totally worth the money because it was all delicious and the service was excellent. Would recommend and would go again!

We ordered burger which was served cold. We asked to warm it up but the whole dish was cooked again. After an hour (wer shared an average pork schnitzel) the burger was served again. Again cold. This is inscrutable. Even with apology. When we reserved for saturday evening we were told we had one hour to eat. But when we... More

We went there for a belated birthday celebration. The food is really outstanding, the service wonderful, and the vibe is very appealing. It is pricey, but the quality of the food made it worth every euro. It is not a place for everyday, but for a special occasion, it's hard to beat.

great spot, lovely atmosphere we all thought it was a perfect environment and the food too. Its obviously popular with the local crowd and also relaxed. I can only echo the schnitzel comment from another, just like my mum made it with the potato salad. Maybe sounds odd but was awesome.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
