Very modest look with excellent food, we really enjoyed interior and food and I do not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to all of you who like to eat good and not spending fortune on it.

The service was very professional and the main dishes were good examples of German/Austrian cuisine. Unfortunately, I personally dislike giant slabs of meat where only half of it had moisture and the other half was dry and difficult to swallow. It could be just how the dish is meant to be, so I won't let that affect my judgment of... More

This is a very charming place, an old German building along the old border between the two germanies. The restaurant inside is nice, giving a retro atmosphere suitable for the place. Food is basic but tasty and abundant, prices very reasonable. I suggest the goulasch dish, although the menu is day dependent. Definitely worth a try.

The "3 Schwestern" is located in the former Bethanien hospital at the Mariannenplatz, close to vibrant Oranienstraße (for a drink or two after dinner :-). Remarkable is the high ceiling which gives the room kind of ballroom athmosphere. The staff was very friendly and the food pretty good. We had a delicious parsley root soup with pears and a salad... We were there for lunch after some recommendations. Frankly the menu was very disappointing to start with but the space looked very nice and it took us a while to find their place. So we gave it a chance. I wish we didn't ! The starter was a mediocre tarte tatin with beetroot and that turned out to be the... More

The drei scwestern is in Kreuzberg, nice space, some sort of school/cultural center. The service was friendly and resonably efficient. The food was OK, but the cheese plate was excellent. Recommended if you are in the neighborhood, but not worth a trip from other parts of Berlin.

Went after a recommendation from our air B and B host. Called to book and found the staff on the phone extremely helpful and friendly. Greater by fast service, a relaxed, but smart restaurant venue that was In true Berlin style. Ordered the mushroom soup and the Schnitzel and was not disappointed at all! Generally very pleased, would happily return,... More

We had diner at the 3 Schwestern in their gorgeous garden. The food was great and so was the vibe. The waiters were nice until the bill came. We paid and gave a tip. The waitress (who didn't even serve us) looked pretty bummed out when we gave her the money. We asked is something was wrong and she replied... More

Cait found this place in her search for things to do. It is currently a host of studios for artists and a school of music, which can make it a bit difficult to recognize at first. If you enter from the front it almost feels similar to a pub - but as you walk out the back it opens to... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
