Went for drinks and ended up getting the cake as well. Fantastic setting, friendly, competent and welcoming staff and a drinks menu the will satisfy most needs.

Good choice of tapas for vegetarians with some different and interesting dishes - try the mushrooms with goats cheese and balsamic. Good choice of wine, available in smaller carafes if you don't want a bottle. We weren't rushed either, which was nice, so could enjoy the summer evening kreuzberg atmosphere. The bar downstairs was interesting but the cocktails are much... More

The name of the restaurant has changed and is now known as The Bar Marqués. We arrived, 8 guys on a stag do, and were seated in the main restaurant. It was very quiet with a Spanish Flamenco guitarist playing. The senior waiter came out, took one look at us and immediately suggested we would be more comfortable sitting in... More

Hello, the waiter came with no catalog's which it seems they don't exist, as you kind a create ur own cocktail in a way. Nevertheless the bar was nice but everyone's mind is on money. There its the trap Τhe "bill" was brought in a paper hand written (wasn't a real one as it seems!!) And costs 24 euro for... More

It used to be a nice place for a drink and a meal, recently it is only greedy and tappas are diminishing and the prices go up high. Why? Nobody knows. Anyway - the cocktails served in the cellar are very good.

The place has everything you can wish for. You can start your evening with a nicely prepared cocktail or aperitif. We had such a nice and relaxed time here. Pleasant music, nice interior design, friendly service, delicious food and a fantastic cocktail bar. Highly recommended, we will be back for sure.

My God! Go to the Restaurant, ask for Rene, the owner who oftenly is there in person, and ask him to bring 'his choice' - you will not regret it. Best tapas in Berlin. Secret: downstairs is the best gin bar in Berlin!

We popped in and were given a table without a reservation. The waitress and bar staff that dealt with us were exceptional, very helpful, really accommodating of our lack of German and gave great advice on what to order. The food is (despite the other reviews) well priced and plentiful. We had three tapas each, which was plenty, and there... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
