A friend told me about this great place. We loved it! Great bar too. Don't hesitate. Service was friendly. Location is a real find. Such a nice street right near Mauer Park. Who would have figured. Best Indian restaurant we've been to in a long while.

We tried the Sunday buffet at Pune over the weekend (6 people) at the suggestion of one of the people in our group. While the choice on offer did not taste awful (tandoori chicken, a mutton curry, a chicken curry and a lentil curry), the choice was ultimately very limited and pretty bland (everything tasted the same and naan bread... We ordered a salad and a buffet on a very rainy day. Food was of good taste, we had to take care of bone fragments in the meat. That is not okay. Service was hasty.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner plus cocktails at this lovely Indian restaurant. The street is one of my favourites in Berlin! You will be happy.

This restaurant is convenient for Mauerpark but unless you are only stopping for drinks, you really should keep walking, no matter how cold it is outside. The salad was probably the best part of the meal, unless you were unfortunate enough to eat the few lettuce leaves liberally doused with salt. The curries appeared to contain no spices whatsoever &... More

Their Indian food is really good - and genuine (as far as I can tell :-) ). Even nice and spicy - if that's what you want. The place looks very clean, the atmosphere is pleasant. I wholly recommend the Pune for any meal!

The best Indian restaurant in Berlin, I'd say. Could leave your tongue in a permanent state of nirvana. Get enlightened by the best. Great drinks too! I loved this place on Oderbergerstrasse.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
