First of all this is not a restaurant, or even a bistro. It is a fast food takeaway with about six seats at a breakfast type bar. The menu only has a few things on it.... burritos, tapas, or quesidilla one version of each and available in chicken, pork, beef or vegetable. We got there ( not late, at about 19.30)... More

Maria Bonita is fabulous! All dishes I had at this tiny bistro were more than tasty, it really tastes like Mexico! I loved the quesadilla de carne! Be aware that the place is really small, especially in winter it may be hard to get a place inside. In Summer, you can sit outside, but as it's really close to the... More

The food served at "Maria Bonita" is freshly made and makes difference in terms of taste. I ordered a burrito with a lot of spicy avocado sauce, - and there was so much of this slushy sauce that all meat and dough soaked with it. The chunks of meat were of average quality, though, so that I had to throw... More

In a city where Mexican food is hard to find, this place is good but not incredible. Food was a bit greasy and heavy for me but some good flavours. As many other reviewers have said this is a quick place to grab a bite to eat and go, it's nothing fancy but worth a try nonetheless.

We came here specifically for the horchatas because it seems to be the only place in Berlin that does this rice, cinnamon beverage. We were so disappointed. So sad because we love this drink. The horchata here, though only a cheap 2,50€, was so watery and flavourless. Normally it should be rich, creamy and filling like a dessert. She served... More

Every time I hit town I make sure to save a spot for their delicious carnitas burrito, to be washed down with a nice mexican beer, lots of pico de gallo and a margarita or two. Cheap and excellent, probably my fav Mexican restaurant in the whole of Europe!

We were staying close to the street of Maria Bonita, and on one of the evenings we felt like going for mexican food, so we went there! We were going to eat in, but the place is so small and simple, and though it was empty, we actually decided to make it for take-out and eat comfortably at home! The... More

I really love the Carne Asada Quesadilla that this place makes. I am no specialist in Mexican cuisine but really the flavour is something out of this world. I am a usual customer.

For people who aren't familiar with really great Mexican food, this might do the job, but in truth, it's just way too bland. The margharitas aren't special l, either. And people serving are not the polite kind except for the guy with the glasses. Never again.

Hello, While it is impossible to please every single costumer, I want to point out that we have many very positive reviews from happy guests that know a lot about Mexican food, such as Mexicans and lot´s of other lovers of Mexican food. Our Margarita is a house made mix with Mezcal and other yummy ingredients - a forever favorite... More

The service was very slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy (they seemed to focus on deliveries while a simple order in the restaurant took 40 minutes). The tacos were not only extremely greasy but also clearly made with very low quality meat. Very small portions for prices that are quite high for Berlin standards. Definitely not going back.

We serve 180gramms of high quality Sirloin beef as 3 tacos for a price that reflects it´s quality and lot´s of work that goes into fresh and hand made products. Most of our guests are very happy with it. Not expensive for Berlin nor for it´s quality. More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
