I stayed in the hotel twice and both times spent part of my evening in the Amano bar. I would reccomend a visit even if you are not a guest in the hotel.

Nice bar, very cool but reserved seating is a bit silly. We were a group of guys who were spending a lot of money but got moved off the table i think due to noise level. We were then forced to stand with nowhere to put our drinks whilst other randoms came and went.

We stayed at the hotel for business and more than once we climbed to the rooftop bar for drinks. Service is very good and there is a good range of vibrant cocktails. The terrace, although it seems to be used for smoking, is nice and offers a great view of Berlin.

Excellent bar in ground floor of Amano hotel. Great G&Ts; music at the weekend but separate from hotel so no noise in rooms.

Classy downstairs hotel bar which is a cut above the rest. Great staff, top class drinks & an incredible sound system. DJ's some nights. If it's dry, you should check out the rooftop bar where you have another great experience & watch the sun go down over Berlin, Love it.

This is a very nice little cocktail bar. The only thing I really hate in Berlin is that you can smoke inside. If it had not been for that, we would have spent a-lot more money here.

Good sized bar, allow smoking. Hence if you do not like smoke, this may not be the place for you. Drinks / cocktail are decent.

Good range of beers, on the "annoyingly aware of being hipster" side of things...but not good for romance. Noisy and smoky...service good, though.

Since its opening, the AMANO Bar has been firmly established on Berlin’s nightlife scene and wows hotel guests and Berlin cocktail lovers with its idiosyncratic interpretation of a traditional hotel bar. The AMANO roof terrace, where the eclectic atmosphere can be enjoyed on warm Berlin summerdays after the hustle and bustle of the city, provides a special view of the roofs of Berlin.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
