In need of drink and food after a visit to Schloss Charlottenburg, this great venue was a stones throw away. We sat outside on a warm day and 3 of the 4 of us had the 'taster' platter of 6 beers. Served in brandy shaped glasses, you got several mouthfuls of each beer - Bohemian Pilsner, 030 Pale Ale (American),... More

Average, overpriced food. The haxe had hardly any skin on it, leftover of which was soggy and not cripsy and the meat was dry. The waiter was the icing on the cake though! He left with our change (which was over 10% of the bill) said thank you for the change without asking if we wanted it back and it... More

If you like tradition, and you like people watching with a cold beer in your hand, then seek out Brauhaus Lemke if you can. One of the many small micro-breweries in Berln, it is situated in arches under the S Bahn train line, just outside the Hackescher Markt station. They brew and serve their own craft beers and pilsner, food... More

Lemke was close enough to where were staying and looked like a great option. It's busy enough and filled up while we were there. The staff are friendly and all seem to speak English. We were seated quickly and ordered within ten minutes. We tried the bohemian Pilsener which we enjoyed so much, we ended up trying another. I had... More

The place is located to the Schloss Charlottenburg, so after a long visit, is the perfect spot to sit and relax having a great meal. The house hamburguer is delicious, as well as the beer. If you have a nice weather, I recommend to sit outside. Very well treatment from the personal, and it's very welcome to have a multilanguage... More

We did the beer tasting and ate afterwards. It was great and everyone in our group loved it. It was well balanced (facts, information and tempo). We learned a lot. We were all very happy with the food as well. I can strongly recommend a visit if you want to learn about the brewing basics.

I had to have the Pork knuckle here after reading about it online. I was not disappointed, it was delicious. I would also recommend having a beer sample tray. Good stuff. Will definitely return when I'm next in Berlin.

As another review said, this is the type of place you were looking for when you are a tourist coming to Berlin and looking for a Brauhaus. Good local beer, get the 6 tastings for 9 euro, then go for the one(s) you liked the best. Combine that with some pretzels, a sausage platter complete with sauerkraut and German potato... More

Stopped for a break from sightseeing. Obviously a good selection of beer to try and a decent glass of wine. Only one of the four of us ordered food but he said it was very good (pork) and the portion was huge (typically German). The waiter was very pleasant, he was Indian.

Thank anncolly

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
