Loved the vibe of this place - really friendly service too, especially considering how busy it was. Food didn't match up to the price though.

We had dinner there on our last night in Berlin. We chose the place after a friend had read about it in the "Cool girls guide" by Conde Nast. It is a rather small but very cozy restaurant with limited choice of dishes and drinks (just wines and beer I think) and we were quite surprised that there they had... More

Great place for lunch. Choosing from the blackboard daily menu I got the BBQ Duck and hubby got the Schnitzel. Both were very well executed, the Schnitzel was enormous and the potato salad was very tasty. The duck was slightly chewy but the accompanying two types of potatoes were delicious! Love the rustic feel of this place.

The fresh asparagus were great. However, the service was slow and the restaurant does not take credit card below 50 euros

I absolutely love this place. Food is always great, wine menu is flawless, atmosphere is cosy and stylish in an old fashioned manner. Place is full of character and I guess that's down to the proprietors. I would only mention... the service is quite surly and at times they can be rude beyond belief. Upon ordering tap water once we... More

A traditional German & middle European restaurant. Schnitzels were great as the 2 different Rieslings accompanied. We had waited about 25 minutes for the dessert, we've noticed that as we were with our baby grandson we must leave soon. As the dessert didn't show another 5-10 minutes we had to leave. They insisted upon charging us and they agree unwillingly... More

A friend and I were visiting Berlin for business but were still keen to explore - this fantastic restaurant was in the charming and hip neighbourhood where we were staying. We sauntered in on a Thursday evening without reservations and they managed to find us a great table - I would recommend booking if visiting as it is an intimately... More

Great food, service and wine at this lovely restaurant right in the centre of Mitte. Dinner for two with wine was less than EUR80.

Tartar was fresh and served with interesting aditionals such as sardines mixed with anchovies. Salmon was good. Special hose desert was huge and well prepared. Good restaurant.

we stopped at this restaurant as it was recommended. We did not book but the staff accomodated us although the restaurant was busy. The food was excellent, we had guinea fowl and Barbary duck and the flavours were magnificent. Perhaps a little pricey with main courses being in excess of 20 euros but we both felt the expense was worth... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
