Extremely long evening for a tasting menu. Lovely dining room, attentive staff - who are very keen to know if you enjoyed each course - and carefully over-orchestrated service. We elected for the "far away" menu option with the wine pairings. The seafood was clearly the most interesting - scallops and shrimp courses. The pigeon was very nice. The Bloody... More

Two Michelin stars doesn't do this place justice. You have a choice of two menus starting at 110 euro and you pick from five to nine courses. There are matching wines which are sensational. The staff, particularly the sommeliers, are intelligent, competent with no attitude.

For Brits with little German language skill the staff were very helpful with the whole experience delivered in English. The food was some of the best I've ever had, up there with 3 star restaurants. The pork belly in particular was incredible. The atmosphere was relaxed when places like this can be a little stilted. The 5 course menu was... More

My partner proposed in Berlin and took me to this wonderful restaurant afterwards. We were very excited and the waiters/waitresses were really welcoming and even hugged us to celebrate. We were treated like king and queen all night. The service was relaxed and very friendly. Maria was particularly great. We had the German taster menu which was out of this... More

Better than some 3 Michelin star places we tried in France- and more reasonably priced. Each dish was immaculate, intricately prepared and just delicious. Sommelier knows her stuff about local beers too, of which they have a small but excellent selection. The course is served very slowly, (gives you time to fully enjoy each dish), so you should estimate around... More

4 (!!!!) hours for a 5 courses dinner is not enjoyable, even sitting in an american comfort sofa for 4 hours at home is not comfortable so at dinner is way to long. The starters where very good but not something that I will remember as one of the best I've had. The first courses were the same, very good... More

A restaurant with good ambience and fantastic service. The personnel is fun, nice and walks the extra mile to make you comfortable. The restaurant has a good and relaxed vibe to it in comparison to other restaurants in the same class.. The food is good but unfortunately no dish served during our 5 course dinner indulced the "wow" factor. All... More

Utterly amazing, from the second you enter you feel comfortable. It's not pretentious the staff are pleasant and welcome and our waiter Fabian had a wonderful sense of humour and really made the whole experience unforgettable. The food was lovely, unusual and well thought out. Portion sizes were perfect and the tapas and petit fours were lovely and creative. We... More

You get everything you expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Very good service, refined dishes in a modern industrial atmosphere. The only thing was that the pace of the dishes was way too slow. 6 courses menu took 4 hours to serve with long pauses between the dishes. Tastes are very balanced. They had venison as a main course which... More

this is a very good restaurant with lots to taste and a very special menu, with near and far on the menu. You can only choose from one of the menus and we choose from the far menu. Lots of exiting combinations of flavors and most to our liking. Nice service a very knowingly sommelier and very casual waiters served... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
