We were happy to find a restaurant serving mostly German food. It did not let us down with the sausage plate, 4 different sausage types with fries. Quality of food was ok, but nothing to get excited about. A very pleasing aspect of dining in restaurants in Germany is how they list any allergens on each menu item......very handy for... More

We've enjoyed the food in this restaurant although the place was full. Nice selection of draft beers. About 20 draft beers from a selection of German breweries. Prices here are similar to other restaurants in the area.

A good place to eat a salted pork leg with a lot of beers. Tradicional, but not fancy. Used by locals too, its better than another turist options in Sony Center

Good choice of vom fass beers. Warsteiner, Bitburger, Berliner Kindl. Menu is a bit on the small side, but all the fine deutsche kuche is represented. I recommend Jaeger Schnitzel.

We were there to drink beers and watch football Germany vs France. The waitress were not polite. Although We have already ordered beers, we have decided to finish the drink ASAP, leave and go and ended up somewhere to drink somewhere else where the place has better service, the waitress also polite. Never ever visit mommseneck again in my life.

The beef filet tips and tomato cream soup. Both were very good. Even though there were 100 beers, they were mostly name brand and common. Very nice server; she spoke little english, and me very little german, but there was no problem getting what I ordered promptly and in good form. Lots of menu items in 5 languages.

The negative reviews about Mommseneck are not correct. Indeed the waiters are ina hurry and seem to be paid based on tips and turnover, but once you calm them down and do not let you pressure, you can have decent brasserie fod, good beer and wine, at very reasonable prices, at least cheaper than many ripp offs around Potzdammer Platz.

It's a pleasant place in the western part of the city. An extensive selection of beer and good German dishes. But don't expect friendly service and don't be too hungry. It takes ages to even order your first drink. If you can cope with this it's a nice place anyway. Reservation is recommendable

We had dinner here twice during our stay in Berlin. They serve a great many beers (also a big choice in draught beers, which I like) and real German food such as Eisbein met Sauerkraut and Currywurst. The food is not spectacular but OK. Our French friends didn't warm to the large amount of cabbage served, but for me it... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
