We had a lovely meal with well prepared fish. Our waitress (I believe originally from Sri Lanka) was 1st class and added enjoyment to the experience.

I'm not so much of a gourmet but enjoyed the food to the foolest. Both fish dishes we tasted were delicious and nicely served. The place is charming and without extra pretentiousness. Definitely worthwhile to give it a visit. Would recommend fish menu. The girl serving us was very spirited and jovial. Thank you for the delightful dinner and keep... More

My daughter and I had Sauerbraten , potatoe balls and red cabbage which was very tasty and hit the spot. Two big slices of beef roast with gravy and very delicious sides. We also shared a salad . The restaurant is clean . Prices are moderate and the lunch menu is inexpensive and lasts until 3 pm. ( We got... More

Great choice for good food, but the location is a little outside of the main downtown area. We were looking for something unique to eat, and Munch's Hus certainly fit that bill in a delicious way! The walk from the Yourkstraße station was't too bad, and from downtown that's only 2-3 stops and a quick ride. Your best be is... More

It was suggested that even though we are from Norway that we should try this restaurant - so we did, and we were very glad we did. The menu contained many of the traditional Food from Norway, and the Food that we ordered had an Authentic Norwegian taste and serving style. Copies of Munch artwork deck the walls, and offer... We went there with colleagues for lunch to try this Norwegian restaurant. Dishes are very fresh, most of them typically Scandinavian. Stylish concept and staff is friendly. Prices are mid range to high. I definitely can recommend this restaurant.

Munch's Hus was a pleasure from the moment we walked in the door. It had the true Norwegian decor we were looking for. There were 4 of us. Each one of us had a very different dish-elk, fish, vegetarian and fish salad. Each one was wonderful with complex flavors and textures. Desserts were delicately fuity, bursting with flavor. You will... More

certainly the only norwegian restaurant in berlin, this is a good introduction to the northern experience, with specialties of the country and a good selection of wines. there are also weekday lunch specials for around €6-7, and in good weather there are tables outside. the service is friendly and capable. a favourite of mine.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
