You need a good appetite to eat here - the dishes are generous with plenty of potatoes and cabbage. Food was good and the atmosphere was welcoming. Good beer brewed in the building.

I went there several times, I took lega pork, ribs, bratwurst, berliner meat balls, red crauts and sour crauts. All these dishes were amazing, terriffic, awesome. They brew themselves their own beer, that is very good and drinkable like water. I had good dinners and when I will be in Berlin next time I will eat in Georgbraeu. Really cheap... More

Called in for a quick beer, whilst out sightseeing. Dark beer is brewed by them and is excellent, staff very attentive, and forced ourselves to buy food. Define try a good move the potato soup, tomato soup and bratwurst we had were all excellent and great value for money. A must visit.

Had a very pleasant lunch there, staff very friendly and spoke good English. The beer was the best we have had in Berlin ( this is our 3rd visit) every time we end up here. The food is good hearty food which is very filling and food portions so large. Once again the bill was so little would have expected... More

Well prepared basic german cuisine. Friendly staff, typical ambiance. They also have some vegetarian dishes on the menu which proved very tasty. And last but not least: their beer is nice.

This place is somehow tradition to visit every time I´m in Berlin. Probably it shows something. At least for beer and some German pub food. There´s really nothing special, mix of tourists and some locals, but pretty OK food for the price. Unfiltered local brau is actually good if You like something simpler between crafts.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
