Had a business dinner here and couldn't have asked for more. We came in arrived late in berlin and checking in at the hotel (mariott) this restaurant popped up as the best Italian in the vicinity that was open till late. We have no regrets choosing this place. The staff eas friendly and the food was great. We had an... More

I suppose solo diners are often not very well looked after in 'posh' restaurants although I'd never experienced that to the degree in this otherwise fine restaurant. I was left standing with coat and hat even though there were several non-reserved tables. I was finally seated at a nicely set table. Then it took a long time for the menu... More

We went before performance at Philharmonie--service was excellent--food was terrific. Excellent wine list of mostly Italy but I didn't want to overindulge so I stuck to wine by the glass and that selection was surprisingly good.

Visitet Essenza on our first night in Berlin and wasn't disappointed. The waiters were great, the food was good and the general atmosphere was also very nice. The downfall of Essenza is the prizes. Everything is really good, but considering the prize, there are just so many other places in Berlin that offer alternatives.

During our stroll we saw what looked like a nice Italian menu through the window, it was daytime so gave no more thought until later. Upon entering we were warmly greeted by a smiling waiter and within seconds had been relieved of jackets and seated. The surroundings were exquisite, great smells in the air and people chatting over their meals.... More

We dined at Essenza based on our hotel concierge recommendation. The staff, especially the manager (Sven?), was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, especially the black pasta dish. Expect a black tongue, but worth it and doesn't last long. The wine selection was unbelievable. Seriously, if you want to drop thousands on a delicious wine, you can. Thankfully the... More

I went here with business colleagues. We had a large group of about 10. The staff were very efficient and courteous. I had a seabass dish cooked to perfection. Our waiter suggested a Sicilian wine which paired perfectly. Their tiramisu was their specialty and it did not disappoint. It was very creamy, not too sweet. I am not a tiramisu... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
