While visiting the Christmas market, we stopped in for a late lunch with a group of 6. We were seated and served quickly.

This restaurant is conveniently located next to the town square. We walked in on a busy Sunday evening and got a table right away. The food was very good. It was a warm, cozy treat on a cold night. Perfect end to our day in the city.

We went in on an afternoon for a quick beer, saw that the menu looked a bit different from other Gasthofs so returned in the evening. I had Wild Boar goulash, and my wife went for the pigs liver. Both were big platefuls of well cooked tasty food, served pretty quickly considering the place was busy. The beer list was... More

Had been looking on menus up and down the street to find Jaegerschnitzel and finally found it here. The interior of the restaurant is what you would expect in a normal German establishment. Service was good and we followed the recommendation of the waitress to get the salad (included) and were rewarded with an excellent salad. Soup was very tasty... More

The restaurant is also a hotel on the main street just off the old market square (convenient during Christmas Market). The schnitzel was good, but unbreaded and could have used a bit more gravy. They did substitute spaetzle for the pommes frites and the spaetzle was OUTSTANDING. Gulasch Suppe was very good. Salad was 2 thumbs up.

Because the Rothenburg Tourist Office had told us - very firmly - that there were NO bars and nowhere to go for a glass of beer or wine - we made our own investigations and came across this lovely, family run hotel and restaurant. Home brewed beer; friendly service; two agreeable bars. If we return to Rothenburg, this is where... More

The place was packed, but the friendly waitress found a place for us with un other couple. The restaurant is cosy and typically decorated. To start we had pumpkin soupe. Good and tasty. For main course fried truite - excellent! Also the salade plate was fresh and rich. For desert apple strudel with ice cream. With a good local white... More

After a long day of travel we were after friendly service, large portions and a well-priced meal. Gasthof Greifen went above and beyond. We were immediately greeted with smiles and happy faces, the service was fast and attentive but not pushy. Lots of meals to choose from, great traditional German foods. Loved the homemade and family-type feel to this place,... More

This guesthouse was awesome. We came in and were tired and they treated us like kings. Food and drink was marvelous. We had different things and everyone was happy with their meal. The Tucher was fantastic.

Our restaurant specializes in Franconian fare with tasty dishes like marinated beef, and moist roast pork soaked in an unforgettable gravy, and a side of red kraut and potato dumplings. Try it with a glas of Franconian wine.

Meet the locals in our restaurant, enjoy your beer in our beer garden - or just have a little break with soups, salads or sausages...
