We ate dinner here in May, 2017. Loved our meals; I had Nurnberger wurst with rosti, and my wife had pork with mushroom gravy. The portions were huge and the tastes extraordinary! We would come back here any time! The atmosphere is very "old time Germanic" and the server was very friendly and kind. The value (and the wine) was... More

I'm so glad I arranged to visit the English Conversation Club on my first night in town. "Hermann the German" greeted me and acted as ambassador to the Club and the town. He presented me with a map and lovely magazine about the sights in Rothenburg odT. I spent a fun few hours speaking English with residents and tourists alike.... More

We have no idea how this is #19 on the list. The food, service and atmosphere were all top notch! Highly recommended the potato soup and anything that has the mushroom gravy.

This was the best meal I had in Germany and ironically it was the cheapest. I'm a foodie so I don't mind spending money on food. They had homemade spaetzle which was tasty period that hemisphere is very cozy.

We stayed in the hotel of this establishment so if you want some of the details and pictures of the rooms and property you can check that review. I wish to concentrate this review on the restaurant part of the hotel. In a brief statement - Wonderful! We met the chef, Rene', when we checked in and he was a... More

This was my first experience with german food and it was very positive. I'm not used in eating so much pork, but in Germany this dish is completely different than what I was used to. We had potato soup, a big salad with chicken, and pork tenderloin with mushrooms and spatzle. This last one, a german specialty, did not conquer... More

We were squeezed in & had an excellent meal, totally justifying our hotel's recommendation. Well priced at less than €40 for 2. Cosy, with great service. We'd go back.

We were staying at the Gästehaus am Klosterhof next door and, once having dropped off our bags we scurried into the Altfrankische Weinstube to place our dinner orders before the kitchen closed. Actually our land lady was drinking in this nice little establishment so we felt that we would be safe it getting something to eat even though it was... More

This was our last day in Rothenburg and me and Mom decided to go have dinner here as this was our second option on where we were going to stay. The interior was really really beautiful and original but I can't even say if the service was good or not because we waited for almost 2 hours there and there... More

Wonderful place to stay and to eat. Small rooms, but very nice, and you are only sleeping in them in this town! Close to the entry gate, wall and not far from parking outside the wall. Highly recommended!
