It's a historic and small cabin size eatery. Beers are smaller (400ml instead of 500 ml) with prices about 35% higher than those in other nearby restaurants. Same applies to the meals, smaller and quite more expensive. There are lots more historic restaurants in the old city centre that provide good value and good service.

We enjoyed our lunch by the river. Grab some wurst and a beer- don't forget the mustard and enjoy a nice break sitting by the river!

... I think. I don't know. It's been around for hundreds of years. And it has great, delicious sausages and sauerkraut. If you don't eat meat, there's always bread? I would not recommend coming here if you don't like sausage. Keep in mind that you have to pay per piece of bread that you take (there's a basket on the... More

This cute little place really does cook up some of the most excellent German sausage I've had! Also fun to visit to say you've been to the "world's oldest restaurant." There's allegedly been an eatery in this spot since 1146, and the family that currently runs it took over the premises in 1806. Pretty cool background for a quick snack... More

This is authentic as authentic gets. This place is so historic and adorable. Right on the river, there is an indoor and outdoor eating area. It was January when I ate there so we ate inside. When you walk in, you have to get through the kitchen to find dining area. The indoor dining area is teeny tiny. So small.... More

We stopped there during a walk in the downtown. You can have a sausade "hot dog" with sauerkrat and sit by the river. Amazing atmosphere!

This place has the staple sausage plate with kraut that you are looking for! Don't forget to get the sweet mustard to go with it and a good German beer to wash it down. If you come in the summer, there are a lot of tables outside, but if you are here in the evening or winter, note that there... More

This is a nice, casual place that grills sausages over an open fire, and serves authentic Bavarian food. You can sit down here, or outside on the patio near the river, or across the patio at another seating area. Waiters cross the patio with hot food picked up from the grill and delivered to the other seating area. It was... More
