Waitresses dressed in traditional German dresses serve very German cuisine. Our apple strudel was delicious and beautifully presented. A delightful place to eat. May need reservations for dinner.

The restaurant has two entrance and two different dining rooms but the meals are always at the top. I prefere the Alte Kuch'n atmosphere and I suggest the 'keller bier' with any kind of rösti, a dish of shredded potatoes sauteed on both sides until crisp and golden.

After nearly giving up finding a place for dining out, we found this great old Franconian restaurant. ("Alte Kuch'n"). There was a "knight's evening" in the second restaurant which is in the cellar but seemed to be a bit of a tourist trap. The restaurant with its separate entrance around the corner though, is much smaller and resembles an old... More

We loved the food! The service was excellent. It's located right next to the Burghotel in the heart of Nuremberg. They have the best pumpkin soup I have ever eaten in my life. Their potato pancakes were amazing. This is a must Nuremberg restaurant!

My partner and I came here for lunch. We ordered the suckling pig and the sausages. Both meals were superb. Best sauerkraut we have had. Staff were friendly and helpful. Interesting decor and very cosy atmosphere. Prices were also good and the wine was excellent. Would definitely return.

A place for meat eaters. Large pieces of meat with side orders of sauer kraut and large potato dumplings that ensure you will not leave hungry.

Excellent service and food. The staff are friendly and attentive. The quality of the food was good and the fair was typical for this type of restaurant. There was also someone with a guitar singing in German, so I did not understand what the lyrics were. I assume that it appealed to the German customers but I really only found... More

As first restaurant for our reunion, our group of 8 had reservations in this restaurant. The restaurant is old and small, with several typical ornaments. The tables are large enough with wooden chairs. If you have a choice, avoid a seat in the back in summer... The open kitchen generates a lot of heat. The food is just delicious. I... More

A coleque recommended "schaufele", a local dish, so that's what my son and I ordered - pork shoulder and it was fantastic. Was it ever delicious! Medieval décor in this place was great...

If you are visiting Nuremberg you should not miss this one. The local food is really excellent and the staff is very friendly even when not always attentive. The ambient makes the whole experience even better, especially in cellar part of the restaurant.
