I ended up here by chance and do not regret my visit. It's only a bit touristic but the service and the food is good. I would really recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy a good dinner.

We've been to this restaurant twice now since we moved to Nürnberg last year. It's a cute little place tucked away not far from the train station that plays up the traditional German angle. The food is generally decent, although the Käsespätzle I had the second time were very salty (otherwise, they would have been good -- nicely caramelized onions,... More

Both ordered beef and it was tough. My sauerbraten covered in sauce was cold, still hard to cut with a butter knife and lots of grissel. The best thing was the red cabbage. Hard to mess that up. Service was not friendly

I absolutely love franconian food and I am a real sucker for their sausages, so I knew when I came to Nuremberg I had to go to one of the franconian restaurants and try something nice there. By chance I stumbled onto this restaurant, decided to give it a try and boy, did I enjoy it. The surroundings are nice... More

This small restaurant is excellent and the staff is terrific! We arrived on a rainy night and they were already booked up. However, we were early and they took pity on us, giving us a table until their crowd arrived. This is as good as it gets in Nuremburg. I would highly suggest you get a reservation, as they have... Our family ate in Herrenkeller over the Christmas Market season. We loved this place. The food was amazing. My husband and I had the Hirch Ragout, and my daughter had the Fire Goulash (yes, it is flaming). The local beer was very good too. It's a rustic but nice decor. The server was very friendly, and the food and service... More

Being a group of Ausralian students who have never tried German food, this restuarant was probably not the best choice for our first night in the country. The teachers had chosen the same food for everyone and not many people ate it. We had a salty soup, sausages (which were actually quite nice) and sauerkruat, and a sort of cheesecake... More

It's a cute old fashioned looking tavern. The food is fabulous. We will return. The make the local specialities and they taste like Oma used to make.
