This is a great spot where you can truly get a taste of Munich and her people. This open air market has everything you can think of from beer, cheese, and produce to touristy handmade goods...great spot to sit outside and enjoy the weather!

Running around in Munich, exploring the Viktualienmarkt is exhausting. So many things to see, so many Kilometers to walk. Take a rest in a typical Bavarian Biergarten. You can enjoy a beer or another drink. Bringing of your own food is allowed, but you should try what they have to offer. If you want to eat your own food, bring... More

Open all around the year, this is the perfect place to taste a beer, a bretzel and enjoy the crowd that everyday goes through this crowded market. Multiple options make it possible to also enjoy some food. The beer changes daily, but is always true Munich! And price are competitive with all other central locations!

The food is rather average in my view and not cheap either; That's if you decide to be waited upon. It's much more affordable getting it yourself! However, rain or sunshine I just love it here; Everyone seems to have time, no one hurries, everyone has time for a chat and a laugh. I really don't need any food to... More

Packed but easy to find a table. What is more Munich than this beer and food garden. I just went for the beer, but there are some food places around...those do seem to be a bit expensive, but you came for the beer and atmosphere, not high cuisine.

Not the best bier garden, or the cheapest, but it is part of the market so it's nice to chill on a hot day with a stein after shopping in the market. warning, you will be surrounded by tourists!

You must experience this Authentic biergarten which is very popular with the locals and has a great atmosphere! We enjoyed a radler, which is a shandy with beer and lemonade. You can bring your own food to eat and just buy drinks. It's a great place to seep in the local culture and a must visit when in Munich!

You are likely to meet all locals and few tourists at this beer garden, so the picnic tables get quite crowded. But the food is good and the atmosphere is pure Munich.....
