Not really that good, just food that is warm, but nowhere spectacular. Not a tourist trap, but close.

We went here twice. One time for lunch and one time for dinner. The food is good, the atmosphere is lively, the location is right in the center, and the have my favourite bavarian beer: Augustiner Edelshoff.

After a long time we visited Munich and refreshed our memories and the Augustiner was one of them. In an icy snowstorm we entered the cosy restaurant and indulged in Bavarian specialties including Dunkel Bier. The service was friendly and efficient and the food didn't disappoint.

The food itself was fine, but the prices were absolutely insane. Dishes I would have expected in the range of €10-15 cost €30, and all drinks and other add-on's were also in the higher range of the price scale.

We are here our first day in Munich for lunch. A local establishment. Delicious schnitzel!! The best schnitzel we had our entire week in Germany. We went to this restaurant with a friend from the Munich area. So delicious. No room for dessert. I would highly recommend you eat here!

We had a big party on the first floor and the service was great, nice atmosphere. Food is typical local Bavarian, big portions. Duck was tasty. Only thing that was missing is some music.

I don't understand the restaurant's reputation for being one of the best restaurants in Munich. Food was quite bad and visibly not fresh, and the menu is quite limited. I am not such a fan of German cuisine myself but I've definitely had better dishes in the area. The only good thing I find is location (right next to the... More

Description
Situated directly by the Frauenkirche in the heart of Munich, this restaurant has been in family hands for many generations and offers everything you would typically associate with Munich and Bavarian hospitality. Whether it is for a quick break or a more substantial meal such as shank with dumplings, you will find value for money here. As a particularly unique feature, Tarte Flambée with a variety of fillings is served at 16:30. Another feature unveils itself in the summer, when you can sit at tables on the street and watch the hustle and bustle pass by. Because of this enviable position in the middle of the city, the Augustiner am Dom is an ideal stopping point on your shopping trip, great for regaining your energy! With lots of smaller and larger rooms, not to mention its beer garden in the inner courtyard, the restaurant can accommodate all kinds of events.
