Lovely restaurant on the ground floor of the old Pinakotek. Very English type of restaurant. Great selection of English teas, English breakfast eggs and English speaking staff. Very popular for Sunday brunch, packed with both locals and tourists.

We thoroughly enjoyed coffee and dessert after our tour of the museum - beautiful and tasty options in a large display! If we had had more time we would have taken a break in this cafe -during- our tour of the museum. Be mindful of cafe hours so you don't arrive too late for service.

Maybe it's my own fault, but when a place advertises itself as serving English food, one expects sandwiches to be finger sandwiches. Not pieces of hard crusty baguette with a filling. I also had a scone which was not bad. I wouldn't go back.

This is the museum cafe. Decent selection of coffee and teas plus daily soups and salads. I enjoyed the "salad of the day" and a English Breakfast black tea. Staff speaks English.

Pleasant, uncrowded cafe where one can sit and enjoy the quiet. Excellent pastries and small plates. A nice change from the glitzy, expensive, foodie outlets that are starting to dominate world class collections. An old fashion room with little nooks for private conversations, reading, daydreaming. Easy to keep coming back for little noshes and a rest after looking at a... More

In the Alte Pinakothek there is a cafe serving nicely presented salads and hot food, as well as good coffees and teas, with cakes which are quite British (such as brownie torte, Mississippi Mud Pie etc.). A bit like being in London, but you're actually in Munich; the cakes are quite heavy by German standards, but still OK. Not cheap... More

Café Klenze: Victorian-style café in the Alte Pinakothek. Limited but good buffet. A large array of delicious cakes, as well as tea and coffee. It can get a bit busy so service can be slow. Nice place for a stop for coffee after visiting the Pinakothek.

One of my favorite occupations on Sundays while being in Munich is visiting the "Neue Pinakothek" - at least that's me preferred one- and then going over to the "Alte Pinakothek" and enjoying a nice cup of coffee with a pretty huge, delicious piece of pie | one can also have lunch there, but I've never tried that out. Either... More

At Alte Pinakothek, this is yet another Museum café of quality in Munich. It is run by Victoria House, a small chain of British Colonial outlets in a town which prides itself to being the northernmost Italian city. and in a building by Klenze who gained his Inspiration from Italian Rnaissance buildings as the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. Quite a... More

We visited Cafe Klenze on Sunday morning for a late breakfast. Really busy time, really busy Cafe, but you will receive your order on time and it will be served in a proper way . It was planned visit, but without reservation in advance we had to sit actually outside the Cafe ( in front of the bar). Klenze offers... More
