Recommended by our hotel. Small, cozy, traditional mountain restaurant. Excellent value @ 39 euros for three course meal (including traditional mountain specialities, fondue etc...), and as much local wine as you can drink. Excellent food and experience. Booking essential.

Lovely food and setting and well worth a visit. I was with a group of 13 and I ordered the racelette which had to be shared by at least two people which was fine and was very tasty. Lots of interesting meals on the menu and everyone in the group was satisfied with what they had.

For a real French alpine food evening this is the place. Within our party we shared raclette and fondue, cooked our own steaks and tried the snails before finishing off with fresh sorbets and crème brulee. Our waiter was brilliant throughout with suggestions as we ordered and keeping the house wines topped up. Great atmosphere (albeit warm with all the... More

We went for a long lunch with friends as the snow had set in! This place has not changed - amazing value and amazing food. No one left disappointed and every visit to val should include a trip to this restaurant!

We had a lovely evening at L'Arolay - lovely Savoir faire and feel. The service was great, the atmosphere was warm, rustic and inviting, the quality of the food was very good and all for a very reasonable price considering it's location. We would have eaten there more than once if there had been availability. I recommend booking in advance.

Have eaten here twice whilst skiing in Val and both times the experience has been wonderful. The €39 Euro menu is outstanding value... a starter, main and dessert plus unlimited wine!! You can't go wrong. Had the snails, the raclette and the Tiramisu this time round. It was all fantastically cooked and delicious. Service can be a little slow as... More

Great situation and great food. We try to make the trip up to Le Fornet every year for something rustique or regional. We have never been disappointed. Fondue, tartiflette, braserade. Etc. Great local wines. Well worth adding to your ski holiday itinerary.

A bit hard to find, but once you do, it's worth it. Cozy restaurant with great views, interesting menu, reasonable prices, friendly service. The blueberry tart was to die for, and their cappuccinos are quite beautiful.

We went for a ski lunch and we enjoyed this meal very much. The food was nicely cooked and the service was good. The menu was not complicated and some of the choices were a bit on the basic side (a lot of chips) but really the food was good. 3 of us had Le Fameux Fillet d'Arolay which is... More

We went with our ski instructor, Henry, to this lovely place and had a great time. The surrounding area is so lovely! The restaurant is cosy, staff helpful and food and wine very good! Huge portions for those who want to keep skiing afterwards, but worth paying a visit!
