After six weeks of restaurant meals I cannot remember what we ate. However I know we had a decent meal and decent service in a traditional setting.

A traditional restaurant with an extensive menu. I had salad lyonnais to start with dorado as main dish and profiteroles for dessert. The wine was excellent, a Chateau neuf du Pape. My sons enjoyed steak as a main dish with a charcuterie for entrée. Way too many calories for dinner but the food was well prepared and the service was... More

I have been several times in this restaurant. It is well located in the well known rue mercière, the heart of the city. The waiters are always kind, attentive to your comfort. I had taken the oyster ( 6 fine Claire N°3, a nice steak rare with pepper sauce and an amazing "St Marcellin" from La Mere Richard. The food... More

Very good food in a traditional setting. very popular with both locals and tourists. Tried the set menu option at a very reasonable price: lentils were amazing, lamb was also juicy and perfectly cooked. Service was kind but a bit distant and aloof.

Wonderful decor, great menu, great food. A very good comfortable easy choice, just what the tourist wants. Friendly. Not the true Lyonnaise bouchon experience, but definitely a good choice if you are nearby. They claim the decor will plunge us back into the Belle Epoque and the 1900s, and it does. Carefully wordsmithing there - this location can claim authenticity... More

Superb environment, service is great, food is freshly made and tasty, a real bistrot ! Not a bouchon lyonnais, but a good brasserie. Typical.

Me and my husband ate one dinner here an evening in March. We really liked the starter and the wine, but the main course and the dessert was so so. We still enjoyed our evening there, though, although I am not sure we would return.

We had the lunch menu (starter, main and coffee, which included a glass of wine if you wanted). Waiter was friendly, efficient, and food was of a good standard. Enjoyed the traditional ambiance and the food - I would recommend this place.

I'll start this review mentioning my disappointing and anger trying to get a decent food at that place. There should be a sign "Only French Native Speakers Will be well Treated at this place". My wife and I've been there last night and although our poor Frençaise we've been really well treated in France before. But not there. The staff... More

We had a really fun evening at Le Bistrot de Lyon last Friday. The waiters were really helpful with suggestions regarding local food and which wines to pair for the meal. We had a great experience overall. Plus, this bistro allows well-behaved dogs if they stay under the table.
