Went there with some friends. The ambiance is great and the food is local. Quality and quantity are present. A great experience, you should try.

As I understand, the buchon is not supposed to be the refined french cuisine we expect, but no good cuisine should lack the taste. I chose Cote de pork with shallots and ginger sauce as the main with the complete menu. The charcuterie was good but not exceptional. Out of the seven salad bowls, the only thing I appreciated was... The real dishes from Lyon are served here. Not from every one however (muzzle, feet, tripes, tongue are on the menu) but if you want to experience the real thing that's quite close. The room is rather tiny which can lead to funny situations and there a real risk to make friends and have a warm evening!! The "help yourself"... More

A fantastic night, everything was just right. Total cost with two 46cl Pots of wine, 82 euros. The staff were very attentive, the food was rustic and very good, seven bowls of salads, charcuterie, main course I had breaded tripe, followed by help-yourself desserts cream caramel, prunes, pomme compote. Sit on long tables of about ten people and just join... More

If you are passing by Lyon you need to get in touch with local food! It is heavy but is great! Chez Paul is a really nice Bouchon Lyonnais that I definitely advise!

A glance at my other reviews will show that I am not one for giving up on meals but hear we left our money on the table half way through the main course and walked. Nobody seemed surprised! In a tightly packed room we were shown to the wall end on a tiny six seat table. Two more people arrived... More

Being somewhat of a gastronomic adventurer I have made it a habit to visit a different bouchon each time I visit Lyon. Chez Paul is somewhere I definitely want to return. My friend and I had a wee bit of difficulty finding the restaurant, even with the help of gps. When we did we were warmly welcomed into the lovely... More

So. Much. Food. SO MUCH FOOD. We got a table, somehow, in this small and packed bistro on a quiet street. The atmosphere is bustling, with waiters bringing jugs of red wine and huge bowls of food around at high speeds. It's hot and crowded, with the sound of laughter and happy chat coming from everyone. We each thought we... More
